I don't know how to start this post in a funny way.

I like the ace attorney games and have played through the original trilogy but somehow I had never come around to try out the Apollo Justice games so i decided to get into it and was immediately reminded of how silly this franchise really is.

Here are some highlights of the first two trials out of context

This guy has never been married and yet he nailed the "divorced single father" look perfectly. If you told me that he smokes weed when his daughter isn't looking I'd believe it.

Ah yes, i had forgotten how on the nose ace attorney names could get.

But of course, we all know about the famous gangster Shooty Mc Badgai

This moment got a genuine "HUH?!" out of me. THIS IS THE FIRST TRIAL HOW ARE YOU SUCCESSFULLY PULLING OFF THESE KINDS OF PLOT TWISTS

Another classic move from Phoenix "the law is my bitch" Wright.

Apollo, you shouldn't say that.

So I wasn't the only one that assumed that Wright would be the kind of guy to pull a Sherlock Holmes and do cocaine to focus or some shit like that.

Somehow the most unbelievable part of this trial is that this guy graduated from med school.

wont have time to work on anything for a few days probably, so uh, since i love reading comments/tags of people sharing their experiences- as part of the preparation for the totk rant script i got another question to ask :3

if you dont like tears of the kingdom, was there a moment that "broke" you, as in, the moment you knew this game is worse than you thought/hoped, and if so what was it?

personally, while i was suspicious after seeing its last trailer, i told myself its just me again and i kept up my hopes for a long time into my playthrough- its hard to point to a specific point since it was a growing feeling of something being off, things didnt make sense and i ever so more wondered how they would pull this all together (they didnt)- i do think the moment i stopped being in denial about it was when i found the shrine of life, the beginning of botw, and found .. nothing, a dingy cave practically licked clean of any traces of the shiekah tech like it never existed, instead of the medical bed a pathetic puddle of water that healed you, no one caring at all, like it actually never happened- i felt like the game pointed and laughed at me for caring about botw, pretty sure i was struggeling to keep it together on stream bc it forced me to realize this game truly is everything i hoped it wouldnt be, even if that sounds a little weird, at that time zelda and especially botw was so much more important to me, a passion for the franchise this game really did end up killing.

nobody asked but my hot take is that i think kon's struggles with

being literally made to be superman

being given roles and expectations (as a hero/boyfriend/etc) based on that/how he looks and squeezing himself down into those expectations

being torn between duty/obligation (even and perhaps especially of the self-imposed variety) and his own sense of self

feeling like he outlived his purpose after coming back from the dead and not knowing what he's supposed to be now that he's done the superman thing (maybe even feeling like he needs the unbearable weight of expectation because without a job to do or a box to fit into he might dissolve into nothing because he's always avoided examining who he is when there's nobody he has to be i wonder why that is)

could. uh. y'know. all that could be read as quite...queer. in a pretty genderful way. but what do i know.

so everyone already has said this but i hate how they constantly leave hannah out of everything and treat her awfully just because she exists ^^ like she's not the one who lost her teammate and has the most reasons to be the one who should be part of the team And ban bacon (yeah zamwaffles are great but can we talk about crashouts and how their relationships evolved from mutual hatred to respect and love and bacon saying that the worst part about the warden project is leaving hannah?).

i really appreciate mapicc's efforts to include hannah and make her feel valued and welcomed on the team. like maybe she will have less reasons to betray if you treat her as an equal.

i hope next week she kills 6 people :3c and one of them will be derapchu :3c and she will be a strong beautiful girlboss with 20 hearts and a good team.
