Today was a very good day on three counts. It was my first day back in the dorm after Typhoon Maring, and I was so happy to be back in UP. This environment has grown on me. It's already set its roots under my skin. 

Door to Door Volunteerism: All of my allowance is still untouched, and when the call came for extra rice, I decided to donate a portion of my allowance for that. Somehow, I got this idea to knock on half of the doors in my dormitory and ask for donations. I scrounged up 3 bags of food, 1 bag of clothes, and around 1000 pesos in cash. I probably made myself look stupid knocking on each door, but it was so interesting seeing everyone's rooms and knowing that 3/4 of the people I spoke to donated something, while the other 1/4 already donated or really had nothing to spare. Kim, RR and I gave the bags at the Office of the Student Regent, and it finally felt good to help out.

Bonding with Jem: Jem and I managed to intercept each other on the way out, and we spent an hour in her room just talking to each other about recent events in our lives. I'm really trying to savour my time with Jem since she'll be leaving for the Netherlands soon. It's disappointing because I thought we would be working together for the next four years.
