Cheyenne is ready for Thanksgiving 🦃🍗
Many Wampanoag hoped that the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower landing would be a galvanizing event to remind people that they still exist
Sad that much hasn’t changed in 400 years.
Thankful
Struggling pilgrims meeting
the hard year of '20,
crushing hopes, taking lives,
losing half, too much sickness,
starvation calling our names
pity from the Lord our God
extending mercy to us,
Samoset our first friend,
Squanto, the freed captive
and the Wampanoag
the teacher, our friends,
answers to long prayers
bringing us to '21
with plenty of food
and a much renewed hope,
for this we are thankful.
