TV Ident, Maya Problems

My project obvously passed throw lots of version, some dayas I was going forward and other days backword.

(First test with the logo, I used the Ai Path and I trasformed in a Polygon).

The problem I had are been a lot, but I had few main problems:

Problem A: Can’t paint on a polygon converted from a path --> Solution: create the shape from a cube (not a plane, it doesn’t work).

Problem B: Mental Ray dosn’t reconise the Paint Effect stroke --> Solution: convert the stroke in a poligon --> New problem: It does what it wants. Converting the Paint Effect path into a polygon gave me a lots of problems, some of the grass decide to move and resize, some other decided to sisappear. The flower for example should be esactly the same flowers but once converted they act in 3 different ways. I then decide to stick with Maya Sfotwer which is totally not good as Mental Ray but for the status of my work at the moment, its the easyest solution. Negative side of using maya software: the qality is very low, it looks very digital, it doensn’t reconise things like the polygons smothness.

After rendered my first version in Maya Software I decided to fix everything, I really didn’t like that digital look that my work had, and the squared 1 it couldn’t be looked. With Lewis help I tryed to do every passage again, fix the grass, convert it on the way, remake the flower to make them look all the same and with the disk (center, yellow part of the corolla) which was see-trough in Maya software. I was stock with the same problems, and not lots of time to fix them as Mental Ray takes a very long time and I still had to fix the lights which are not the same than Maya Software. At the end I gived up, I decided to keep the Maya Software version and to go back to fix it after the deadline.
