Hey friends!! Please take a minute and go to this link to vote for First United's Storage for the Homeless Project. If they win the Aviva Community Challenge, they will be awarded up to $100,000 to use towards the program, and it would make an enormous difference to how many people they are able to help in the downtown eastside. Until I found out about this project, this aspect of homelessness had never really occurred to me. I can't imagine how agonizingly difficult it would be to try and get back on my feet while having to carry around everything I own, always worrying that it might be lost, stolen, or ruined by the elements. The Storage for the Homeless project helps give these people safety and dignity. Please vote!
