Freshman Sire Boisterous Gets First Winner

A Gr.I winner on turf, Boisterous was represented by his first recorded winner Thursday, May 17, when daughter Six Pack Gal won a maiden race at Santa Anita. The sixth race on the card, the maiden was run at the distance of 4 1/2 furlongs. Six Pack Gal, who is also the first starter for her sire, won by 3 1/2 lengths with a final time of :53.38.
California-bred Six Pack Gal is a homebred for Tommy Town Thoroughbreds. She is out of the Forest Camp mare Heart Six, who is also the dam of stakes-placed Light Up the Sky and four other winners.
Boisterous (Distorted Humor - Emanating, by Cox’s Ridge) won the Gr.I Man O’War Stakes, Gr.II Monmouth Stakes, Gr.II Red Smith Handicap (twice), Gr.III Knickerbocker Stakes (twice), and Gr.III Fort Marcy Stakes during his racing career. He was also second in several more graded events, including the Gr.I Turf Classic. With a record of 35: 12-3-4 and earnings of $1,458,792, he stands at Tommy Town Thoroughbreds for a fee of $5,000.

First Winner for the Late Brilliant Speed
Brilliant Speed was represented by his first winner Friday at Laurel Park. The juvenile Fly won a MSW event completing 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:02.87 under Jevian Toledo.
Fly is out of the Breeders’ Cup Sprint winner Desert Stormer, by Storm Cat, and was bred in Kentucky by Avalon Farms, Scott Swaim, and Desmond Ryan. He is now owned by Dark Hollow Farm, Davidov, Davidov, MacWilliam, Teitelbaum, Wallace, et al., Fly was trained to the victory by Phil Schoenthal.
Brilliant Speed, by Dynaformer, earned $1,203,531 with three wins from 21 starts, including the Grade 1 Bluegrass Stakes for trainer Tom Albertrani. He stood at Three Chimneys Farm until his death July 17, when he was struck by lightning.
Fly sold for $80,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
