Procrastination done right
Confession time. Officially it's confession #3. I'm lazy, well I am and I'm not. Maybe the better way of saying it is... I'm a procrastinator. Leaving things till the last minute. ALL the bloody time! *sigh* I never learn.
Today though, I was going Christmas shopping and yep, you guessed it. I decided to leave it for tomorrow. Instead, I went for a brisk walk. Heh? That's not all bad then is it? I avoided the crowds, the food, the coffee shops and spending hundreds of £'s for one more day and burned some calories instead!
At the school run I bumped into a lovely Mum and I confessed I'd started working on losing weight. Turns out, she works at a gym... in the creche. She explained how lovely it is there and how my 2 year old would have a ball. Holy Batman. I'm now off to investigate classes and options so that maybe come January, I'll be able to swim/spin/gym 5 times a week whilst my littlest has some fun and makes new friends.
Anyhoo... back to the subject at hand (Did I mention I get distracted easily??) ... brisk walk around the neighbourhood. Mapped it at 2.63km done in 27:47 and a pace of 10:34min per km. or speed of 3.54mph. My app says that's 196 calories burned! Hurrah!
I had a few 'moments' when I was out there. I wont go into them much just yet, I'll save them for another day... suffice to say they were great moments and I feel inspired and very happy today. I may even go for another walk this evening. As I had originally planned to do.
We all need to start somewhere, I just did!
