Today marks Vlad and Caleb’s anniversary! Vlad is Caleb’s first love and they have been together for many, many years!

How do you overcome your first love?

I’m not an approachable person like making a conversation between us, talking about everything in our lives. But I’m a sentimental kind of person, doing small little things makes me happy and liking it. No matter what happen, you still have a special place in my heart, my first love. But now, I’m letting you go and freeing my heart for you. We cannot predict the future, thus, we’re making it happen right now.

This might come as a surprise but I hope the universe will let you read this letter. 

It's clear to me that it was 15 years ago but what else can I do than to say what's inside my heart and I hope I'm not too late to say this.. I am truly sorry for all the wrong decisions and actions I've done. I was still young back then and I don't know what to do. 

When I read your email way back 2009, that's when I decided to forget everything about you. I tried to live a happy life without looking back at the past. I thought I was doing okay, I can say that I am happy pero wala e, mapaglaro ang tadhana. 

God knows that I did everything that I can to let go but I don't know what happened e, ayan, puff! the memories I had with you were back again, lingering on my mind. I sent you a message to check on you kaso nganga lol 

Seriously, after all these years I'm still struggling to forget you. I might be trying too hard and I guess I just have to accept that you will always have a special place in my heart. And maybe, instead of fighting it, I think I just need to accept it, it is what is. 

This might bring back some of the not so good memories but I am not doing this on purpose. I can't explain why but I have a strong feeling that I have to. I know it doesn't make sense now but someday, I know it will. 

I hope everything is doing good with you and your family. You take care.

It's just not meant to be.

Long post ahead:

So I came home straight from my (favorite) Ninong's wake... Time check: 10 minutes before 1 am. This Ninong of mine is one of my closest ones (because I only have 2 Ninongs that's why). Anyway, I am so devastated when I learned that he's gone already. I didn't even have a chance to see him and it hurts...

On the wake, many of their colleagues are there- some faces are new for me and some are not. My Ninong's parents still remember me and for that, i am very happy. We chatted with my Ninong's friends until 11 pm and someone said that we must eat first before we go home and my parents agreed.

When we are already at 7-11, some of my Papa and Mama's friends started reminiscing their memories until they narrated my Ninong's first love --Tita V.

Tita V and Ninong used to be sweethearts and they were each other's first love. According to Tita R, Ninong and Tita V are inseparable and many of them thought that they will surely end together. Until one day, Ninong have to leave the country to work as an engineer. Time has passed until Tita V got tired of waiting. She felt unsure of their situation and she got married ... with someone else.

After some time, Ninong got home and felt devastated upon learning that they can't be together because Tita V married someone else. Years have passed again and it is my Ninong's turn to be happy again, not with Tita V, but with another woman. Things run smoothly until Tita V's marriage is now on the rocks - the one he married is a drunkard.

Tita V is not happy anymore with her marriage and she is on the verge of splitting it up from his husband but at the time that she is on her way of doing so, she learned that her husband has a severe kidney problem. The plan she had didn't come into realization because she knows that her husband needs her and more especially, their children.

Years again have passed and Ninong had his second wife. (I do not know the reason why my first Ninang and him broken up) He had 3 children with that woman and according to my Papa's friends, things got worse when he lived with that woman. My Ninong's second wife is a great spender- she didn't value every amount of money my Ninong sent them from abroad. When Ninong came home, he was broken upon learning that his hard-earned money was lost just like a popped bubble. He became problematic and confused that he decided to leave the second wife.

Tita V is now a widow. Her husband died due to his illness. Ninong is now separated with his second wife (He is not married to both wives). Now, they are both free. They started to contact each other again and they eventually back with each other.

2018

It's been 2 years since they rekindled their relationship. They were so happy until June 2018 happened. Ninong get involved in a motor accident and has been in a coma state for days until the inevitable happened - he died.

It seems that the universe didn't want them to be together. In the past, it is their recklessness that made them apart and now, it is death. It's just like they are destined to be together just for a short period of time but not for eternity.

It's just that they are NEVER meant to be.
