When he woke up, wound aching and wet, rib gone. When he knew he had felt the touch of divinity for the first and last time. But a gaping hole in his side wasnt enough- he wanted to again be touched, his cheek, his mouth, his lap.

so did he weep, when all that was left is an empty space?

I dont think he cried from pain, but rather, from feeling God and now recognizing the emptiness born of the absence of his touch.

What hurt more, Adam son of god, when your lover tore your rib from your chest, or the gaping hole left from a touch of the divine?
