=============================
Working for the Order was really starting to wear me out...
Constantly having to look over my shoulder, and most of all fearing that Sirius wouldn’t come home. With Lily and James in hiding, it had brought my mental state down so much. When I was alone, I cried until my body couldn’t produce the tears any longer. I held Sirius extra tight when we slept, afraid he’d be taken in the night.
I was off today, no mission to report on for Dumbledore. It was a particularly cold day, so I stole one of Sirius’s sweatshirts. It smelled just like him, it brought back some happiness to my mind. I mindlessly cleaned around the small apartment we rented, anything to keep me from thinking about Sirius’s whereabouts.
I chewed my nails nervously as I stared at the clock, knowing Sirius should have been home by now. I paced by the door, the palms of my hands becoming sweaty. Tears started to surface, panic beginning to consume me. Then the lock clicked, and I saw those storm grey eyes I had been dying to see all day.
“Is that my hoodie?” he asked, his lips quirking into a smile.
“What took you so long to get home?” I inquired, ignoring his chipper mood.
“Reports took longer than usual, are you alright darling?” he sighed, his brows furrowing.
“I just... I missed you so much.” I admitted, rushing into his arms.
He hugged me to him, not understanding what was going on. I sniffled as I tried to keep my tears at bay, not becoming successful as a few fell. Sirius pulled back to grab my face in his hands, his eyes searching mine. He wiped my tears away, thumbs stroking my cheeks gently.
“Tell me what’s wrong.” he insisted.
“I was just worried something had happened to you. This war has really taken a toll on me, I worry about you every second we’re apart.” I confessed, my fists clutching his shirt.
“How about we ask Dumbledore to put us on more missions together? I think we’d make a pretty great team.” he winked, lightening the mood as I chuckled.
“You think he’d do that?” I questioned.
“I don’t see why not...I don’t want you to be sad anymore my love.” he whispered, nuzzling his nose to mine.
“I won’t be sad once this is all over,” I sighed, leaning up to kiss his lips.
“I’m afraid it’s only just beginning darling.” he whispered, taking me into a hug.
