Idk why I have the idea that if you're an American exchange student at Hogwarts and your host family are the Weasleys. During the summer, y'all go to America along with Harry and Hermione.

Arthur is loving it. Ron, George and Fred are loving the food. They'd eat the fuck out of them ribs and want to go to a Waffle house. They'd probably take back as much ranch as possible so they don't run out.

I just thought of a prob kinda weird headcanon and it's like the entire wizarding world has absolutely ZERO concept of food expiration dates and it DEFINITELY causes health hazards — like wizards just cast a basic preservation charm and vibe, absolutely NO ONE is checking the back of the fridge + milk stays chunky for three months, and they just assume it’s a specific type of magical dairy texture

I think Hermione would try to explain what "best by" means to Ron or the Weasleys and Ron would think it's basically just a muggle prophecy for food

Like Harry has probably accidentally eaten a sandwich that's been sitting around for GOD knows how long and only noticed when he realized the green fuzz halfway

This might be the worst day in you’re life ever.

No. There were definitely worse moments than this, like when you decided to hide in ur locker so you won’t get caught by Ms.Hicks. You’re Charms Professor in Ilvermorny. The plan was to skip Transfiguration and meet up with a few friends but the plan was a kill when you got stuck in the locker with the result of the school's janitor getting you out and a week's worth of detention.

You noticed you’re mother’s mixed facial expression looking back at you. Her sweaty hot hands fiddled with an opened letter made of a parchment paper and an envelope crafted from marble-effect paper, finished with emerald green ink and a red wax seal.

It was one of those hottest days where you just want to stay home under the blasting ac, eat plenty of food and watch whatever sitcom that plays first on television. Most likely The Golden Girls.

“So you knew this for weeks and never bothered to tell me?” You questioned, getting angrier by the second, you don’t know what’s worse, the heat or you’re mother choosing to sugarcoat and not be honest.

“Well…. I found out then I completely forgot because- ”

You cut her off immediately. “ We are moving to London and you ‘forgot’? That’s a big thing to forget.”

“ Listen, with the meeting and promotion things have been all over the place but I do know this will be good for both of us. Like dad always used to say “ Change is inevitable, growth is optional.” your mother stated looking at you, her lips drawn together with an empathetic expression, sliding you the letter over.

‘ How dare she use dad as an excuse ’ you thought as you rolled your eyes and softly snatched the letter.

Dear Y/N,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.

Terms begin on 1 September. We await your owl by no longer than 31 July.

You read slowly, hands getting so sweaty by the minute, People would think the letter was wet. You inserted the letter back in the envelope carefully, staring at the red wax seal in the middle of the envelope. A fragile and shaky deep breath escaped your mouth. “When do we leave?” You looked up at you’re mother.

“ In a week, we have to gather all your and my supplies.”

“ Good thing about it, with the promotion I now have, Call me Ms. L/N New Charms Professor of Hogwarts. When I had my interview, they told me the old one mysteriously disappeared.” She explained, shrugging her shoulders.

“ Unbelievable” you mumbled quietly, not confident enough to say it louder. Her shaking her head in annoyance, She runs her hands over her face before opening her mouth.

“ I know this isn’t perfect or fair but I really need this. This family could breathe fresh air after the past years. If your dad was here, he would also agree. Just please try, for me and for your father.” You cock your head to one side and raising your eyes in disbelief.

“Who knows you could find proper friends or maybe a boyfriend finally” You’re ur mother stated before tapping your stair and walking to the kitchen. Watching her back as she walks away, you’re eyes beginning to well up with tears, the envelope quietly leaving your hands and falling on the couch softly.

Maybe this is the worst day of you’re life.

Why do I think the Malfoys (specifically Lucius) are better survivalists than the Weasleys?

I mean no matter who wins in the battle of Hogwarts, I'm pretty sure they are one of those who come out as a complete family.

It's already shown that when Harry won, the Malfoys are pretty much safe. Narcissa and Draco are basically okay... even if Lucius went to Azkaban. And when he's released, he's pretty much okay. So yeah, when Harry win, nothing big happen to the Malfoys.

Though one might argue that the big thing did happen as they lost their social standing... but then again, they survive and they're still rich... or at least that's what understand from the epilogue.

And if Voldermort win, they are still safe, maybe not in peace as the whole England won't be in peace but still alive.

Now, the Weasleys are flourishing because it was Harry who won. (Fred still died, that's still sad but overall they are okay, they heal.)

But if Voldermort is the one wins. Oh no... I think they would be the example for all the wizarding community. They've been know as the pureblood traitors and are prosecuted for it. Even more so now that Voldermort's regime is supported by the purebloods.

I feel like the Malfoys are those characters that even if you put them under extreme conditions will still come out with minimal bruising. Hahahahaha. A 🪳 really.

I guess its mainly because of their willingness to cross lines, to do evil, to be selfish or more accurately to have self-preservation. Run now and let's fight another day. This allows them to have another day. Compared to let's end this here and now, there's no more tomorrow even if you desperately needed it.

And this willingness to do things for self-preservation can go both ways, good or bad... I like to think them as willing to be a hypocrite just to be safe. They can do the good and repented family and survive and even thrive after the 1st war. And they can continue it again after the 2nd war, as proven in the epilogue, just shut up and live peacefully. They're pretty much intact.

Why don't you include other Weasleys in your fics?

Because I don't, affectionately, care about them.

I don't write characters that I don't muse about constantly. I mean I can, but that would take loads of forced energy. And i don't want fandom to be forced.

So i write and include them when they naturally come to my mind and the flow of writing. Otherwise they're all in background.
