Photo from a recent press event to celebrate the #conservation work by Hall Conservation on the #Kirkintilloch and #Campsie Parish War Memorials. This photo shows the Campsie memorial. The war memorials were returned to their former glory thanks to a partnership between the Centenary Memorials Restoration Fund and the East Dunbartonshire Council. While working on the memorial, it was discovered that there had originally been gold leaf work which had gradually disappeared over the years. Hall Conservation reinstated the gold leaf work so that the memorial now more closely resembles how it would have looked when unveiled in 1925.
