I love things like the fish doorbell because it's a reminder that humans are hardwired for curiosity and wonder. Despite our world's concerted effort to alienate us from that part of ourselves it persists and thousands of people flock to watch a livestream of murky water so they can push a little button to let fish through a door half way across the globe. Delightful.

In The Martian, Watney has to set up cameras around the hab (or maybe it was just the garden?) so NASA could monitor his work, right? What if there was a fish doorbell equivalent website for Mark Watney where you could just stare at a delayed live stream of his potatoes. And every time he showed up you could ring a doorbell to notify Houston or whatever.
