Ramblings
For sure for sure in my five years as a fish store employee the most common problem that I come across with inexperienced fish owners is overfeeding. So many people follow the instructions on the can and it’s so annoying that every company says to feed too much.
Generally when people have algae, have filters that clog all the time and people coming to “get the fish that cleans” are all dumping gobs of food into the tank every day.
ALSO people who go on vacation and let their house sitters feed the tank almost always come home to algae and sometimes dead fish. (Leave a pill container with the proper feeding amount and hide the can of food away from them)
Idk the thing I noticed over the years is that most problems stem from overfeeding
I was going to scoop out old food from Boiúna's tank but i just looked and its? Gone?? Did u eat them??? How did i miss it
What
Thinking abt altering my Water Change method in a way to use/waste LESS water? Apparently "old way" is buckets, and a pain, but like? Honestly dealing w that hose is a pain already. But like, for Remoooving the water, maybe i could just use buckets? And then first, before dumping it down the drain, see which plants need watered and use the fish water for that, and then dump it down the drain or maybe in a garden or smth idk. Give it ro the plants yaknow? Thirsty Boys. That way im not running water straight down the drain w the siphon to create suction? But then filling the tank back up w the siphon doesnt *need* to use suction, so we're not running water straight down the drain that way? The biggest issue of this is transporting buckets of water? Guess imma get beefy 💪💪
I bought.......40lbs of sand so far, and also a uh, plastic/resin (?) Fake crocodile skull decor for my big tank as a hide...
Me, trying to plan an aquascape design for my 72 gallon freshwater aquarium.
