Mahi mahi, Dolphinfish, Dorado & Lampuga, all names for the Coryphaena hippurus! These colourful fish are found in the Mediterranean Sea at this time of year (August-November), often aggregating underneath objects floating on the surface.

They live for up to five years, and can get to a meter in length!

there’s a video somewhere out in the world that haunts me and i cannot find it no matter how hard i search. i first saw it on tumblr years ago.

it’s a screen recording of someone’s desktop. they open a program and run a file in it that shows a short looping animation of a 3D modeled fish swimming. they pull up task manager (or something similar) and watch as the fish consumes progressively more and more resources until their computer crashes. there is upbeat music playing in the background throughout.
