the prussia one coin figure is expensive af lol... it /was/ 700 yen. retail. but this and other types of merch (the little dangling figures in a box, i'm blanking on what they're called aaaa, plus his rubber strap, for example) are mad expensive now cuz he's the most popular character i guess omg??? thankfully i bought all 3 of those things Back In The Day :^D but i don't pity anyone trying to find thm in this day and age omg. last time i saw a prussia rubber strap sell it was for £30 o.o

I actually had a conversation about that with Amertsi a while ago. You used to be able to buy the second set of these figurines (to which Austria, Prussia, Hungary, and Spain belong) at cdjapan, but it’s sold out by now. That’s why my only hopes of ever getting that Prussia figurine is in case they make a second pressing of that set and … to be quite honest, I doubt they ever will. These are collectibles, after all.

Same goes for the Hetalia rubber straps of which I’d love to get the set with Austria, Hungary, Prussia, Spain, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Poland, and Lithuania (all of which are favourite characters of mine), but precisely this set is sold out. Last I checked, you could still buy the set with the main characters plus Canada minus China and the one with China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the Nordics in it online, but not the one I’d want.

At least I was able to buy Austria and Hungary as one coin figures at a con this year, and I’ve also got Austria as a rubber strap. Austria isn’t that popular, so it’s easier to get him than Prussia. The downside is that there’s also less merch of him, and last I checked, all of it was sold out.

As for popularity, I think Japan, England, and Prussia are the most popular characters in the Japanese fandom whereas America, England, and Prussia are the most popular ones in the US fandom. England, America, and Japan are among the eight main characters, so there’s lots of merch for them. Prussia merch, however … *sighs deeply* Plus my impression is him and England are also the most popular characters in the German fandom, which makes getting merch of him at German cons almost impossible, even at high prices.

I’m probably a defender in that respect. The ending isn’t great, but it’s not as bad as people make it out to be. The main problem was how long the last few chapters took to come out, really sucked the wind out of the proverbial sails. It made an “okay” ending more “widely disliked”.

That’s actually one of the things I’m curious to reread. Does it feel better when you read it all together? Does it soften the letdown blow a bit?

i love protag's design as well. the art style/animation in general is just rly nice

IT IS ;___; i wish they had more of a budget because it looks like theyre working with peanuts but the whole show feels like a labor of love and its just very nice ;___; i really love all the characters and their designs are all so nice and not at all jokes or fanservice?? idk its just so nice to see a show that loves and respects its characters as much as the audience does. everyone is good in their own way and i really ;_____;
