New Madeline Ref for Artfight!
Madeline is from a long line of Dreamwalkers(Starborn). Their job is to help people who are captured and enthralled by The Forest in their dreams. (The Forest comes to people to make them despair. Coaxing them to give up on life or anything else)
During one of her missions she failed to help her own best friend out of one of these times, thus losing her to suicide. Since then, the guilt of that time caused her to develop a saviour complex in hopes to make up for what happened, hoping to override her guilt. She wants to help people, but she is not ready to accept that she still needs help herself.
She became prone to being emotionally drained very quickly. Making her not being able to form any more longer lasting connections, which was not helping her feelings of loneliness
Later she met Cedric in one of her dreamwalks. He lived far away from her and didn't seem to have a social media so they could only speak through dreams. He reminded her a lot of her friend and it was the push she needed to become close to someone again.....
