Session 170, full body. (After another month oops)
Back on my wellness bullshxt! And feeling good. I did a 40-hour fast from Sunday night to Tuesday morning and it was a great challenge for myself. I haven’t done one in a long time and while I was hungry and low energy Monday night, it helped with some persistent bloating I had been feeling. I drank an ass ton of water and finally felt like it cleansed the system.
I’m walking consistently, eating thoughtful and wholesome foods, eating at a bit of a deficit, and hydrating as much as possible. Sleep is still a little broken at night with Derrick waking and wanting me usually around 2am but it’s alright; could be much worse.
The weight chart here looks quite dramatic, but I was about 10 lbs above my original goal. Now I’m 2 lbs above original goal, but I want to work my way back down a bit lower. I figure I’ll set a new goal once I get back into the goal range I had set. Still, I’m 80+ lbs down from when Derrick was born, and that is awesome. I think 15 more lbs would be the max I’d wanna lose. I’m curious to see what my body looks like at that weight, at this age. 💪🏻
What I desperately need to do is include some strength training. I know it’s a major piece of the puzzle that’s missing and I haven’t tackled it yet. I think I’ll start actually with some Pilates — not proper strength training, but something to strengthen my core and something to mix up the routine. My SIL shared her Apple fitness+ with me and i haven’t used it yet. Why?? No good reason! I will try it out today and check back here. Accountability and all that.
Hope y’all are warming up and getting through these long winter days! Xx
I understand women's fears of "getting bulky" from lifting weights and I'm not unsympathetic, I definitely have aesthetic goals with my exercise regimen as well as fitness ones. But I think a lot of these women really don't understand (1) what it would take both workout- and diet-wise to start really bulking up (you'd have to eat SO MUCH guys lol), and (2) how many of the men they're afraid they're going to start looking like are getting some hypodermic help in their gym sessions. You are not going to turn into Dwayne Johnson from lifting weights twice a week in a calorie deficit (or even at maintenance). It quite literally cannot happen. You will increase your lean muscle mass enough to improve your overall strength and bone mass and metabolism, though! It will make you stronger and healthier and you'll burn more calories at rest. And there are about eleventy-three studies showing the mental health benefits of strength training, as well. There is quite literally no downside here! LIFT WEIGHTS, LADIES!!
My new fitness goal is not to lose weight or prevent type 2 diabetes (those were already goals), but to be as energetic as the 70+ year old men in Devo during a concert.
Thought I'd check out the little counter-service bar & grill built into the local sports center and the verdict is:
It sucks and I wasted $20+
i've turned a joke idea into a real prompt before, i can do it again. Kokichi but like- he's a fitness geek.
i love me some Twunkichi and i think it'd be funny if he was like, really serious about fitness. He pretends he lounges around all day and claims he forces his subordinates to do everything for him, but he always stays active and has a regular exercise routine. And when i say geek, i don't mean the Fitness Bro "eat healthy, stay skinny, gain muscles" way, i mean he's literally a geek about the science behind it.
This boy knows all the different ways to keep fit, and how drasrically different fitness can look between various people. The only thing he'd ever universally recomend is regualr stretching because the body needs to regularly move and that's a good way to do it, he'd never suggest anything else to people without knowing their needs and restrictions first. He wants to shove straight protien powder down the throats of Gym/Fitness Bros™ who do that to people.
best part is he rarely tells anyone about his fitness knowlage and life unless they specifically ask, so alot of people just assume he's lazy as fuck.
I can imagine Kaito dragging him to join the training trio for a session cause "you need to get off your lazy ass and do something" and Kokichi ends up in a shouting match with Kaito because Kaito skips straight to the workout without any kind of prep/warmup/pre-stretches, which is yk- not healthy to do and can increase likelyhood of injury.
everything reminds me of her
