Happy Birthday in the afterlife to one of my all time favorites, Robert Mitchum! Like Alain Delon, Chow Yun-Fat, Lee Marvin, Peter O’Toole, Franco Nero, Takeshi Kitano, Toshiro Mifune and Jack Nicholson, Watching Robert Mitchum is always a pleasure! Out of The Past and Heaven Knows Mr. Allison are gems in a career full of them!
“All Good Things” (S07E025, Stardate 47988.0) is the perfect finale. It ties up threads that you did not know were left hanging, explores the human condition and provides an exciting sci-fi concept. Q bookends the story of Jean-Luc Picard and he finally joins the poker game, leaving the journey open for more.
Here is my final TNG poster in this series (still got the films, right?). So much to choose from in this two hours, but that last shot really pulls it all together.

The poker game was a frequent plot vehicle in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Unfortunately the show's portrayal of poker is pretty brutal.
I just started watching this episode, when I had to look up what “the man with the axe takes all,” and this was the first thing to come up. Truly a delight.
