It's finally time for Skinktober!
What's that? No, I'm pretty sure it was never called anything else.
It's skink season again! Saw this beautiful adult p. fasciatus at our apartment complex just now. Bigger than we usually see them, had to be at least three inches long, maybe four! The babies have very pretty blue tails.

We went to Plot 420 for harvesting & to plant some garlic. We had left some homemade compost out at the plot &, while scooping some out for the garlic planting, I found this five-line skink:Â

This unfortunate fellow found his way inside my apartment this morning. Duo and Little Girl chased him across the living room and under the cats' crates. I caught up my pets and put them in the bedroom, spoiling their fun, and then carefully snagged the very(!) squirmy skink. A quick exam showed no injuries, so I released him on my back table.
A great sign of simple, pesticide free, agricultural health. Plestiodon fasciatus, the Five-lined Skink.
