A Five-Step Program For Formatting Your Mind Specifically Designed For Self-Hatred
5. The loop becomes self-reinforcing
Self-hatred creates more striving. I’m not enough so I must work harder or fix myself. With more striving there is more inevitable falling short and more hatred. The hatred itself becomes familiar, even “normal.” Many people don’t even notice it anymore it just feels like background anxiety, inner critic, perfectionism, or chronic dissatisfaction.
This is why the social and family formatting is so insidious. That doesn’t feel like external programming. It feels like our own thoughts. “I’m lazy.” “I’m ugly.” “I’m not smart enough.” “I should be better.” These feel like objective truths, not installed code.
