It's five years with XZ. I wanted to find a photo that best depict a person I would encounter walking across university campus, sitting on a park bench or at standing in a coffee shop.
There was a time when he could do that - the simple pleasures of life, having no restrictions to this kind of fame. He could easily step out of his home for a spontaneous adventure. Every move doesn't need to be carefully planned; strategize: getting in and out of hotels and restaurants.
Nowadays, “normal” means cameras are everywhere, people crowding wherever he goes, people adoring you, and people hating you. XZ knows that's part of being famous, and he deals with it rationally. He even advises fans to do so repeatedly.
This photo was the closest I could find to being “normal”: A hoodie-wearing person taking a goofy selfie. But then he flashed his mega-watt smile, and that’s when I realized he had never been just ordinary. There's just something about him. I wish a lifelong of happiness and a fruitful, steadfast road of success ahead.
