Gwen Graham has defeated Steve “lingerie party” Southerland in Florida’s second district, proving the best representative for women is someone who respects them and isn’t just related to them.

Tea Party Republicans should view Southerland’s loss as the canary in the coal mine – voters aren’t buying what they’re selling and are ready to replace the most extreme members of Congress with those who support commonsense solutions as soon as possible. Heading into 2016 with a more Democrat-friendly map and electorate, GOP Housers should be wary.

 Graham has also broken a glass ceiling tonight – she will be the first woman to represent Florida’s Second District in Congress.
