i need some advice: so im starting my junior year & we have a new coach this year who told us we'd have a 4 person weapon line. i spent the first 1.5 weeks of band camp spinning rifle, then he told me that i "wasn't improving fast enough" and i was moved back to flagline. it's been about a week since that happened and im having trouble moving past the disappointment. do you have any ideas on how i can?
So I think it’s important to also remember that not everyone can be good at every weapon. It’s okay to NOT be great at rifle. Maybe your skill is just in flag! That’s totally fine! All colorguard equipment is equal. One is not better than the other. There’s nothing wrong with being on flagline. I’m a career flag and I would NEVER change that. Being put on flag doesn’t mean you’re bad at colorguard, just that maybe rifle isn’t for you!
I also understand how disappointing it can be to work really hard at something and still fall short, though. Just keep working to be the BEST flag you guys have, and be a good leader. Learn some new tricks, make some new friends. And if you want, keep working at rifle! Sometimes you just need more time to learn better technique, etc., and you can always try again next season!
