obsessed and fascinated with your sugar baby robert au, gnawing on it like a piece of raw pasta and pondering the flavor profile (it’s daddy issues, the flavor is daddy issues)
how does the rest of the flamily feel about this development? what do you think cirus would do for work? i assume robert wouldn’t wind up at sdn (because like hell are they letting robert work for a living ever again), but do you think he might reconnect with chase eventually?
much to consider…
(huge fan btw)
Awww! Thank you for you love and support! I appreciate the interest and questions!
Daddy issues is THE flavor here, yes.
The rest of the flamily is fine with Robert being married to Cirus. His daughter was the one who suggested that the old man explore what the world has to offer after all, and don't get sad sitting at the huge home alone for much longer. When he brings in a young, hot, slightly traumatised twunk, she and the rest of the cousins look at each other, shrug, and say, 'As long as he makes you happy, Cirus, we're gonna love him too'.
In my head, Cirus heads a very large and successful architecture firm. He started out as a villain, fighting the Brave Brigade as SunSpire, the Scorch of Los Angeles. Robbie, Shroud, and even Trackstar never could defeat the man; he was just too powerful. But, then he got married, had kids, and settled down, stepping into the shadows and away from the villainy business.
Now that he bagged himself Robert, there no way Cirus is letting him work at SDN. Hell, he is not letting Robert work at all, besides an occasional Mecha Man mission and organizations for charity.
Robert, who has met Cirus a little earlier on in his career and is yet to spend all the millions of inheritance, is actually pretty well off. Now that he's not sinking money into the suit, he can afford to relax, let his banker invest, concentrate on spending time with the men he loves.
At some point, I do imagine that Chase tries to reconnect. Again, now that Robert is no longer Mecha Man'ing full time, he's got less reasons to dodge his calls too. Though I can see the reuninon being a little frosty when Chase realizes that his little brother is married to THE Big Bad of the Brave Brigade.
How does Shroud feel about his son being married to the big bag of the Brave Brigade AND being in anooly relationship with him and the man's son?
Shroud, Elliot, back then, has always hated SunSpire. The annoying dick was full of himself, had ridiculously strong fire-based powers that made him light up like, well, the sun, and he just. never. fucking. went down. Time after time after time. The Brave Brigade tried a lot of shit to try and contain their enemy. Robby threw the full power of his suit at him, only to be partially melted on multiple occasions. Vitalia had to have numerous operations and became unerringly good at regrowing skin due to the amount of injuries that he put everyone through. TrackStar was just booted back to the start line every time he tried to engage with the villain, SunSpire, claiming he didn't beat up kids and that Mecha Man should be ashamed of himself for recruiting someone that young to fight his battles for him. Shroud himself, for all his implants, calculations, and upgrades, just could not compete with the instinct, charisma, and ineffable cockiness in himself that the villainous dick had.
From what Shroud heard and remembered, it wasn't until a few years after Robert was born that SunSpire hung up his mantle, retiring from the business and disappearing from public view. He tried to locate leads on him while in prison after killing Astral, but it was like the man had disappeared. Vanished like the streak of sun that he was, hidden behind the clouds. He never could figure out why.
Imagine Elliot's surprise and rage, years down the line, when he comes looking for the Astral Pulse and finds his old nemesis dicking down his son. It's not world-shaking, but it does come pretty close. When Elliot assigned people to watch his son, he imagined him living by himself, maybe still trudging along with the Mecha Man solitary task. But, to his surprise, Robert seemingly was only engaged in heroics in a very small way, making rare appearances here and there, but leaving most of the work to the corporate-affiliated heroes and vigilantes. He was not at the same apartment that Shroud received information about; he was not destitute like he had imagined him to be. But no.
Robert was fucking thriving as a young trophy husband to some rich architect. He was not fighting; he was attending galas and charity events. He was entertaining guests, shining brightly with a hand braced against a swollen stomach. He was being doted on and escorted about by his husband's son, too. And clearly having an affair with him. There was something familiar in the face of the son, but Elliot could immediately place it from the photographs he received.
It was not until he himself broke into the house and was met with the achingly familiar wall of fire that cut him off before he could even take a step into the foyer, a tall figure built like a brick shithouse stepping through the flames lit up in blinding yellow fire, that he finally placed that familiarity, "SunSpire!"
"Shroud," calmly answered the man, still bathed in light. Elliot grit his teeth and backed up; he could already feel the metal implants all over his body beginning to heat up.
"I'm not here to fight you, I'm just here for the Astral Pulse. And to figure out why the hell you're fucking my son," he spat out, composure lost before he could even attain a semblance of it at the face of a foe he never thought he'd have to face again. SunSpire cocked his head to the side before a gaping smile broke through the flames.
"Robert was... unexpected. But never unwelcome. He won't be giving you anything, and you won't be stepping anywhere near him either. Robbie failed to raise him right, clearly, but he did instill some very beneficial issues in him. Beneficial for me and mine that is," he hummed. Took a step forward, forcing Shroud to take one back. "I'll always be grateful for Robert's presence in my life, you know. He's a beautiful soul and a generous lover. A very giving one. In fact, he's giving all that love to my son right now," taunted SunSpire, producing a little fire duo that was fucking in the air above his palm. Elliot gritted his teeth.
"If you want to leave here alive, and maybe not too charred, I suggest you let sleeping dogs lie and forget about the Astral Pulse in general and your son, in particular. I'll keep him safe and happy. After all, that's my duty as his husband," promised the villain.
"And if I refuse?" couldn't help himself Elliot. SunSpire's smile twisted into something sardonic.
"It will be the very last decision you will make for the rest of your very, very short life."
Cirus and Robert Anwar, Power Couple
Imagine if Robert started to help Cirus with his business and wasn't just good at it, he was EXCELLENT. And he admits that he never thought he would do anything but be Mecha Man. Cirus spends the night praising Robert during sex.
It starts small, Cirus forgetting some reports on the living room sofa, just some proposals for consideration. New building codes, regulations, partners, etc. Robert glances at them as he passes by, coffee at hand.
The next time Cirus sees his husband, the man is neck deep in the paperwork, multiple screens open in front of him in the media room, comparing what's on paper against judicial codes uploaded to the government websites and noting down inconsistencies, etc. He's muttering about incompetence, budgets, and stupid people. He looks frustrated, but his eyes are sparkling.
Cirus leans against the entrance of the room, watching his husband learn something new and excel in it. He joins Robert, standing behind his chair, and teaches him what to look for, what to watch out for. It's the most fun the two of them have had outside sex, and it's just as stimulating. Cirus sees a whole new side of Robert.
He's very attracted to his husband for entirely new reasons. That occasion prompts Cirus to bring Robert to the office more and more often, eventually getting him his own space at the building. Robert thrives in the high-paced environment, learning the ins and outs of the architectural business on Cirus' insistence. It brings them closer and makes the older man feel good about not just Robert's future but the company's as well. It has the additional benefit of Chad finally becoming more involved as well, not willing to be completely left behind the family business and the dinner table conversations.
And if they christen Robert's new office and test the soundproofing of it, well... Robert apparently learns very well while keeping his husband warm in his hole. Chad is promised office-related privileges if he manages to pass his certification board by next month. He does it in a week.
