Riza Hawkeye for my drawing class project
one day you're watching full metal alchemist and cheering for Roy Mustang
then in college you learn chemistry and THIS FUCKER WAS DOING COMPLEX CONTINOUS UNPRESSURED EXOTHERMIC IONIC REACTIONS TO BURN THINGS
IT IS A WONDER THAT HE SURVIVED ALL THESE FUCKING YEARS FOR FUCKS SAKE, FLAME ALCHEMIST INDEED
So I heard its Riza day
Is Berthold the one who figured out the reactive cloth, or is it Roy and Riza who discovered it while studying flame alchemy after Berthold's death?
I remember that Riza's back tattoo is the one seen on Roy's Truth Door. Perhaps that’s the only thing Berthold completed?
Roy first kisses Riza in the rain.
Because he couldn't even touch her in manga without taking off his gloves.
He won't kiss her without being completely disarmed.
He'd never let any trace of flame alchemy touch her again.
I really wish FMA would have explored the full potential of flame alchemy more. It's more gas alchemy than anything else, the ability to create flames is just one nice side effect. If you think about it, being able to control oxygen gives you the perfect method of solving incidents peacefully.
You're dealing with a large group of hostile people who show no signs of cooperating? Just decrease the level of oxygen around them and they'll pass out shortly after. Mustang would also make an amazing firefighter. People still trapped in a burning building? Deprive the fire of its fuel and everyone can be safety evacuated.
Maybe the full potential was never realized on purpose to further the point of state alchemists completely having lost sight of their purpose as helper of the people. Mustang was deployed to Ishval shortly after mastering flame alchemy where it was only ever used as a tool to kill people.
The war ended and maybe it was fear of hurting others unnecessarily that stopped Mustang from diving into research about flame alchemy even further. Maybe he thought he'd discover even more convenient ways of utilizing fire against others that he didn't want the military to get his hands on but never entertained the idea of focusing on the oxygen-control aspect of flame alchemy.
Attempt one at making a flame alchemy glove. It has a few mistakes and a little lopsided but other than that it's not that bad for just being made from a sharpie and cotton glove!
The Albatross Upon Her Back
"And a good south wind sprung up behind; The Albatross did follow, And every day, for food or play, Came to the mariner's hollo!
In mist or cloud, on mast or shroud, It perched for vespers nine; Whiles all the night, through fog-smoke white, Glimmered the white Moon-shine.'
'God save thee, ancient Mariner! From the fiends, that plague thee thus!— Why look'st thou so?'—With my cross-bow I shot the ALBATROSS."
