Thankful for Corporations that Care
I am humbled and thankful for the people, corporations, foundations and churches that give to Orange County Rescue Mission. We are 100% funded privately by the generosity of others. Each and every donor and volunteer is greatly valued and appreciated!
Just as the World Health Organization declared a pandemic, the Orange County Rescue Mission leadership team and I began working swiftly…

Flame Broiler, 1500 Canada Blvd., Unit A, Glendale, CA 91208
So, this Flame Broiler is right across the street from Glendale Community College and there’s a small parking lot. Try to come at night unless you’re already at GCC because parking will probably be hard to find. Flame Broiler is a large teriyaki chain and it has a chain feel without much ambiance. Order at the counter.
The menu is fairly short. Choose your size (mini, regular or plate), choose rice (white or brown) and veggies, choose your protein (chicken, Angus beef, organic tofu – or half and half) and add a drink (optional). You can even choose which veggies you want (broccoli, carrots, cabbage) and add chopped green onions (no extra charge). White meat chicken is extra. They have a sauce station with teriyaki and 2 types of hot sauce – add what you’d like. Get your own utensils and soda. The food is not cooked to order but it is assembled the order. It’s served hot. Prices are reasonable.
* Organic tofu teriyaki bowl (regular) w/ veggies ($6.65) and brown rice: This was a nice size portion. The bowl looked full. The brown rice was warm and properly cooked. The blanched veggies (carrots, cabbage, broccoli) were plain and still crunchy (a good thing). There was a good amount of charbroiled tofu. The components are plain but you can add sauces to add flavor (if you want). I think it tastes pretty good without sauce.
For fast/quick serve food, Flame Broiler may seem boring but it’s reasonable, healthy and simple in a good way. They also have a frequent buyer program (sign up with Five Stars). It’s perfect for college students.
3.5 out of 5 stars

Ate Flame Broiler for lunch with Lo.
Lo’s job security is looking pretty sketchy atm.
School was okay. Was assigned to a team for a speech with Jamie, Mimi, Michelle, and Amber. : )

Struggled cleaning today off and on. Just kept trying to go a little at a time. I guess it’s better than nothing.
Ate Flame Broiler for dinner and watched Bojack Horseman with Lo.

I worked my ass off today trying to catch up with the house. Scrubbed down the whole kitchen. Dishes. Tobi’s cage. Living room. I’m dead tired.
Ate Flame Broiler for dinner.
