A grin graced her features as she approached her friend. The exchange had taken her overseas for sometime but afforded her chance to get first hand experience with the states.

Jonouchi swallowed down another bite of steak and lowered his fork at the rather serious question. “Thanks,” he replied in regards to the compliment. Mokuba had a point though. Jonouchi still had work to worry about. He couldn’t cook for all of them on a constant basis.
At the suggestion, Jonouchi perked up and turned his gaze towards Kaiba. And here he thought the CEO didn’t know anything about making food. Didn’t the guy have personal chefs and butlers to do that stuff for them?
“…I don’t mind, honestly,” he admitted with a shrug. “It would probably make things easier on me in the long run…” He raised an eyebrow. “But that really depends on how Kaiba feels about it?”
The way Jonouchi seemed to perk up at Mokuba’s suggestion didn’t escape Kaiba’s notice. He supposed he should pull his weight around the apartment somehow until he could get KaibaCorp back under his control from the unknown enemy of his. Or, he’d have to get a part time job until then, but he didn’t plan to take that long to get his company back. Hopefully by the end of the week he’ll have everything back under his control.
Suppressing a sigh, Kaiba gave a little shrug of his shoulders. Also, how could he say no with Mokuba giving him those puppy-dog eyes of his. “I don’t mind doing some of the cooking.”

♫. —— What was she going to do? ..What could she do? She sat hunched on the flowerbed’s wall, knees tucked up close and arms around her legs as she scowled at the flower clock not far away. ❝ ..I don’t want to tell them. ❞ She muttered to herself in the late night air. She would have to though,f or they’d find out from her dance school in time and it’d be better if it came from her-- But she’d flunked at her dream. She wasn’t usually one for giving up, but at the moment.. All she was able to do is sulk because it was a big blow to her self confidence. She dipped her head into her arms a little with a tired sigh, she didn’t want to face her parents.
Just Dropping In
Jonouchi groaned against the ground. Everything hurt. Everything. He was barely conscious and he could feel aches throughout all of his limbs. It was like waking up after a losing fistfight.
He could feel blades of grass brush against his face and smell the dirt around him. Gradually, he pushed his arms out from underneath of him and forced himself to his knees. He looked around the property and gawked at the manor in the distance.
"...Where the fuck am I?" he grumbled to himself as soon as he could find his voice again. He glanced around the clearing, finding that he was in the middle of a garden full of colorful flowers and nicely cut shrubbery. It reminded him of Kaiba's mansion. Was that where he was?
Jonouchi pushed himself to his feet and staggered forward a few steps. A sharp pang of pain stabbed through his head, making him stop and teeter forwards. A flash of several memories surged behind his eyes. The feeling of being dragged into deep blackness. The laughter of a pink haired woman. Being chased by monsters. He cringed, raising a shaking head to his head to hold it steady. "W-what the hell...?"

Apartment Hunters
A gentle smile crossed Jonouchi's face as he watched Shizuka ask the landlord questions about the empty apartment flat they were looking at. He couldn't believe that this was finally happening. It was his last year of high school and he and Shizuka were finally going to live together after all of their years of being apart.
They had talked a lot about post-graduation plans to move in together but now that they were actually taking physical actions, it made everything a soon-to-be reality. He hadn't felt this happy since he had won the money to get Shizuka her eye surgery.
So far, they had been shown three different buildings and the current flat seemed the most ideal. There was a spacious kitchen, separate shower and bathtub, and most importantly, two decent-sized bedrooms. He just hoped the rent price would be affordable.

The Christmas Party
Jonouchi entered the classroom a few steps behind his friends. A smile was on his face and the laughing was there, but there was a noticeable lag in his reactions.
"I'm so happy that Shizuka-chan will be able to come!" Anzu chirped with a bright smile on her face.
"I'm always happy to see Shizuka-chan!" Honda quipped.
Jonouchi impulsively twitched at Honda's words but let it slide. He maintained the grin on his face, trying his best to keep up his mood for the sake of his friends. "Like she'd ever turn down hanging out with you or Mai," he chuckled.
"Speaking of Mai-chan..." Anzu trailed off with a sudden secretive smile in place.
The blond bristled, not at all liking the gleam in her eyes. Oh no. What was it now?
"...I trust that you're planning to get her something?" Anzu pressed.
Jonouchi flushed automatically. "H-how many times do I have to tell you? I don't like her like that anymore!" he huffed.
The young woman giggled. "Not what your face is saying right now."
Everyone, including Yuugi, gave small laughs at his expense.
Jonouchi just sighed heavily and hung his head.
Honestly, with each passing day, the blond found himself dreading Anzu's upcoming Christmas Party even more. It wasn't like he was bad with socializing. Quite the opposite, really. It was just the occasion itself he wasn't too fond of. Though, it wasn't like he was going to tell his friends about this. He didn't have it in him to be a downer.

Jonouchi shuffled into class with the rest of his friends as per usual. He laughed and talked with them as he always did, drawing the eyes of many of their other fellow students.
"No way! There's a spell card that does that?" The blond gasped in awe as Yuugi explained a new card he found in a pack he bought the other day.
"Yeah, I was testing it out with Jii-chan last night. It should give me an advantage in my next duel," the shorter duelist chirped.
The blond chuckled. "Do you honestly need another advantage?" he joked as they group went to gather around Yuugi's desk.
"Hey, looks like Kaiba's here today," Honda observed, noticing the CEO in his desk.
Jonouchi gave a disinterested shrug. As long as the bastard didn't talk to him, he could get through the day fine. Hopefully.
The blond looked over at Anzu. "Hey, do you have your math homework done already?"
The young woman raised her eyebrow. "Yeah, why?"
Jonouchi gave a sheepish smile. "I was trying to look over the problems on the walk over here but there were some I still didn't get." There was a pause. "Okay... I didn't get most of them."
Anzu heaved a sigh and went to grab her paper before handing it to him. "Working a night shift again?"
The blond nodded, taking the paper. "...Second job is giving me shit shifts because I'm new..." he groaned. "I'm hoping I don't end up passing out during class again..."
Honda shrugged. "Isn't that what you always do anyways?"
Jonouchi shot the man a minor glare. "I actually decided to at least get my math grade up for this semester, than you very much." He then went back to his desk to begin looking through Anzu's answers to figure out how she did her equations. He groaned after a minute and hit his head lightly against the desk. "How the hell did I not think of that before?" he groaned to himself.
