The Final Goodbye - 1945
The war had finally come to an end. France had been liberated and Alina was presented with her freedom to return home. No longer did she have to play spy for the witch communities of France, and no longer did she need to be on the run. Freedom had become a funny word to her because in all those confusing and painful years she had found a light of hope in a foreign man. Love had been out of the question for such a long time, after all how could she love someone like him? A hybrid vampire. Her family would never approve of it, especially with him coming from no other place than Romania. The idea of following him there was fascinating, but at the same time she had been away from home for far too long.
Once she had gathered her travel papers, she made a promise to the man to come back in a couple of weeks and meet him in Paris, before embarking on that journey she knew there was not returning from. Her trip to Ireland was bittersweet, she quietly took a mental note of each and every place she passed before finally reaching home. When she finally got home she found it empty, something that didn’t surprise her, she hadn’t exactly been a good daughter so i had been silly to think that she would find her family there anxiously waiting for her.
Tired of waiting around she unpacked the few things she had brought along and made her way to the shore, knowing that if she was bound to find anyone there it would most like be Connor. She walked around, a few people recognizing her and stopping her for a quick chat, yet there was no sight of him. Feeling hopeless she went straight for the rocks and sat down, taking a small notebook before starting a letter to that man she had left behind.
