Omg guys he has moved into the third dimension
At long last I have kinda figured out blender! and it only took about a weeks’ worth of youtube tutorials and then realising nothing worked because I was using the wrong version
Also still messing around with grease pencil - I’m gonna try to get better at using it so I can animate more stuff with it than just accents
I’m probably gonna make more low poly models of my other robot guys soon!
been a while since i last drew this guy
Hierophant is in the real world now omg
wait its a trick!!!!
This project was mainly inspired by the art style of Hylics, I liked how the characters were made by modifying mannequins/action figures with modelling clay and wanted to try and replicate that in blender with my own character!
oh no watch out
also i think it would be funny if when i do eventually make some Flashover stuff that the art style is completely different for some characters
Continuing my low poly 3d experiments with Flambé!
Model before compositing below, and some draft renders
Bolt is finally in 3D!
I've actually had this model for months, it just took me a while to practice animating this guy until I had something I was happy with. It's been an educational experience!
This also means I now have working 3D models for the entire Flashover trio!
Incendiary unit
Wanted to experiment with a more soft shading style for a change, i think it works well for rendering the glowy lighting. I was also curious as to how well my redesign of Flambé would translate into a more painterly style, I have to admit the new toothy mask is much more fun to render.
Flambé redesign yet again???
I'm playing around with this design again because I don't think it really fits the setting/themes for Flashover anymore as I mull over the story.
I also wanted to fix a few issues with the original, mainly there being no easily readable side profile and the original mask shape being hard to draw at an angle. Hopefully I'm closer to fixing these issues now! For the face I wanted something that appears sharp to match the rest of the square/triangular shape language and can't emote much, so i think this toothier look works well.
