or @constancezin is a goddess among us mere mortals (as we all knew) and created these incredible depictions of my sweet flea and mia potter!!!!!!! please ooh and aah accordingly at her brilliance.
read about these unconventional lovebirds here and here!
tripping and falling are mostly the same & stumbling, though, is not so quick by @gigglesandfreckles-hp
A surprise bonus bind because I couldn’t help myself. I gave this story a reread late this summer and it got stuck in my head. Next thing I knew I had pasted the whole text into a document and started making this. More below the cut!
dalit fleamont and brahmin euphemia forbidden love story
During Euphemont’s time at Hogswarts, Fleamont once gifted Euphemia a raggedy ass scarf but Euphemia loves it cause Fleamont made it

abiiii how are you?
I’ve been thinking and I don’t think I’ve ever read a fic where Harry meets Effie and Monty…
do you have any headcannons regarding what they would have been like as grandparents and what their relationship with Harry would have been like? Or even what it would have been like if they had been alive in 1981 and Harry had gone to live with them
My song offer is “The End of the World” by Skeeter Davis (from James’ perspective after Lily broke it off in seventh year)
Byeeeeee
hi!! i'm doing so well!!
it's funny because i've actually not written euphemia and fleamont and harry within the same fic! (to be fair, i've not written much harry at all, for that matter)
in a reality where they were alive to meet harry, i think i'd still have the evanses dead (rip) so they'd essentially be harry's only extended family and i imagine that would be a really special relationship. they would spoil harry in all the ways grandparents tend to do, but...let's think about how much they already spoiled their own son ha! there would be no ceiling to the things mia and flea would do for harry and i think there'd have to be several conversations with them where james and lily essentially had to tell them to chill out hahaha. (they'd dutifully nod their heads and then buy the sweets for harry anyway) i think harry, james, and lily would be over for sunday roast every weekend, and as harry gets older, he'd beg to stay the night on sunday nights.
i think, for all their wealth, james and lily would live a fairly modest life and keep things simple at home—so i think euphemia would introduce harry to some of the grander things in life and some of the more eccentric things within the wizarding world of britain. and if fleamont had been around...well. harry wouldn't have to resort to snape's textbook. for that matter, with the combined force of fleamont and lily, i reckon kids would have been begging harry for tutorials!
but i can't think about mia and fleamont raising harry if jily did die for too long without getting really emotional. the idea of harry using james's childhood bedroom...playing quidditch in the backyard...taking him to his first eye doctor appointment...
(and that song!!!!!! omg. i love a good oldies nod and this one is so so them, you're so right. UGH)
For Mother's Day, I asked for some of your headcanons on Euphemia as a mother. Now that it's Father's Day, I am back with wanting your thoughts on Fleamont as a father. ❤️
i love this ask!!!! here are some fleamont potter thoughts:
ultimate nightmare warrior! when james would have bad dreams, it was always fleamont who would make a cup of tea and lay next to james until he fell back asleep. more often than not, he'd fall asleep himself and the two of them would end up sharing james's single bed. fleamont would be sore the next day from having to scrunch his legs up all night, but never once complained.
in the same vein...he has a tea for everything. james would ask for "potions" to help with every little thing as a kid and fleamont was never good at denying his son anything. most of the "potions" were just strong brews of tea though. he got really into it and started having different brews for different maladies. james got a scrape? herbal tea w/ berry blend. couldn't sleep? peppermint.
james and fleamont both wrote in all-uppercase letters!
when james was a fussy baby, fleamont's voice was like magic to sooth. mia would try all the things, but ultimately end up passing him off when she got to her wit's end and fleamont would just start talking to james and that was it. flea never quite felt comfortable cooing over a baby, so he'd just talk to him like he was a grown-up, updating him on his potions work, talking about the weather, politics, how pretty euphemia looked that day, whatever.
not a big physical touch person in general but never denies james or mia—both biiiig physical touch people—a thing.
he didn't hesitate to tell his son when he was proud of him, but he was much more comfortable using his actions to demonstrate his love. sending biscuits after a quidditch victory. sending biscuits after a quidditch defeat.
he hated being photographed. he got mia a camera for christmas one year and it came back to bite him because she constantly wanted pictures of him. once james was born, however...he stopped complaining. he carried a moving photo of him and james in his wallet until the day he died.
he wasn't a pushover parent, but he never ever raised his voice. when he was upset with/disappointed in james, he got very quiet and would shut down...which, as james got older, was much more impactful than any strong words flea could have ever said to him.
he adored sirius and went out of his way to be an example of what a good man could be. as a very quiet, observant man, flea noticed things about sirius in those early days of him living with the potters that james and mia never did.
(i've talked about this before but) he's the only one who knew the boys became animagi. he noticed certain books missing from his shelves and overheard enough snippets of conversations between james and sirius to put two and two together. he talked to james about it exactly one time, making sure he knew what he was doing and not being reckless, then never brought it up again. and it's the one thing he never told euphemia. that secret died with him.
