Emiri had mixed emotions about the gala, the event excited her and she was always willing to give to charity but the risk of seeing Harrison left her with a dry mouth. Even though she had grown use to seeing him, she hadn’t grown use to seeing him with a date or at a formal event. When Fletcher had said he’ll happily escort her and keep her company during the event, she was grateful and it made her feel less panicked. For the evening she could concentrate on Fletcher, which was never difficult.
Her fingers drummed on the based of her champagne flute, as her eyes scanned the crowd that was forming in front of them. “Which piece of Art do you think will get the highest bid?” she mused to him, her eyes flicking over to him for a brief moment before going back to surveying the crowd. “I never like to bid on anything, mother told me you end up spending too much in competitiveness.”
