Darkiplier Theory (SPOILERS for A Date With Markiplier)
So something interesting ocurred to me that I'm not seeing anyone really talk about. Most people are chalking up the seperate endings on Multiple Universe Theory (I'll call it MUT for simplicity). And that's all well and good, but which is the real one? The true, canon-to-real-life ending? Well, Mark tells us. In ending 10 (I believe?) where we choose to further explore the warehouse and find out that we're really Chica, at the bottom it says "True End". So, problem solved! Haha it's a goof we were a dog the whole time. However that leaves a lot of questions, especially ones regarding Darkiplier, unanswered. According to MUT, universes split every time we make a new choice, and the situation before each of the two choices is exactly the same... for example, everything in the circumstances leading up to choosing between "PICK A LOCK" and "DIG" is exactly the same. Why does this matter? Well, it means that the circumstances leading up to the beginning of the date don't change. When you choose to pay, there's still a glowing artifact on the ground elsewhere in a field. If you choose not to pay, the romance play is still going in a theatre far from your location. Okay, okay. So why does all THAT matter? Darkiplier is still on the verge of taking control. The times we see Dark are during The Dark Mark (HORROR), FREEDOM! and EXIT (he's there grinning and sends us into a time loop). But even if, in "canon", he makes NO appearances (which he doesn't in the path to True End) he's still in a circumstance where he can. And if the Chica ending is real life canon, this brings up a very troubling conclusion. Dark is here. He's biding his time. Whatever happened during the events leading up to HORROR gave him actual, physical control of Mark. Those are a seperate set of circumstances than the ones that lead us to True End. But guess where else Dark makes an appearance? EXIT. He appears, in the second when you are blinded by sunlight, and throws you into a time loop you can't escape from. He has some form of control. He's here, he has power. The only reason we don't see him in "canon" is pure dumb luck-- think about it, the option for MORE doesn't even appear to you at first. This is intentionally Dark's doing, giving you only one choice, and he's done it before, in HORROR/FREEDOM! I personally think that Mark convincing you to pick EXIT was Dark having taken over, come on, what are you doing? Manipulation. It's so much like him. But in real life, we chose MORE. We defied him, for whatever reason, somehow, and his last bid to get-- or get at-- you and Mark is foiled. He's pissed. { More theories to come ^^ feedback is encouraged! }
Umm fck. The RFTS!Anniversary was 23rd of damn January and I missed it-
Yay!! Happy 1 year bday to my project!! 💖✨
Btw, sorry for the lack of activity in this blog. I’ve just been having an off start of the year and was thinking of taking a break online for a bit.
Most likely I’ll still keep writing offline and posting it here if I get to. But mostly I’m going to be prioritising my mental health. (Especially with the scary thought of uni approaching. I’m not having fun guys-)
Srry for the not so bright update but on a lighter note, it makes me happy to check in and still see people being bright and creative with their own stories :3 💖💖💖
Omggggg
I’ve been obsessing over the RFTS! magic system a lot to the point where the rules of wishmaking, wishgranting, stars in general, and evil villain motives with spooky magic are in two looooong note pages on which I keep adding to it.
Hehe, you can tell I was a little pissed on how vague the magic system is in the canon movie.
And then, there’s the messy middle part of the plot outline still begging me to think of smth for it for months now.
Oof.
You say there will be some close calls swearing in your au and if "oh shtars" is not some variation of a Star curse word then I will be disappointed /j
Lmao 😂
Uhhhhhhhh….. funny story about this side blog’s username. I didn’t know what to call it before and whether it should be anything fancy or smth.
Then looking through my story outline (that’s still in progress), there’s a bunch of ‘oh-shet’ moments and I was feeling a lot silly at the moment, so I just put “oh-shtars” as a placeholder for now.
But I guess the username grew on me, sooooo here we are~ ✨
Plus, wouldn’t it be a funny reference anyway? Like at the end of a chapter, I can just go:
“Oh-shtars. Oh-shtars indeed…..”
I’m a tiny bit worried that RFTS!Asha, being Sueño’s love interest, might come off like I made her as the whole “solution” for his trauma and vice versa. Which I’M NOT TRYING to go for. I don’t really like the message of having your partner be your therapist.
It doesn’t sit right with me.
Nor is the message that “you need to be in a romance to be happy.” I find them annoying.
Both Sueño and Asha did go through a lot, but they aren’t meant to “fix” each other. Even if they did start a romance, I don’t want their issues in the past to just suddenly become insignificant or disappear.
But, there’s no denying that they still mean the whole world towards and fell for each other.
They’d still struggle on going forward and yes, getting through these things would take time. But it’s not their romance that would instantly fix what’s wrong. It’s really just NOT “fixing or solving” but it’s more “finding someone” who understands and wants to stay and support through the healing journey. People to help lighten the load.
Sueño’s happy ending is not just Asha. Nor is Asha’s happy ending just Sueño. No. For these two, it’s more on finding their place of belonging through the other relationships they build, finding comfort and finding trust.
Just finding “Home.”
every time I’m in front I get the urge to move everything in our room two inches to the left and see if coffee (host) notices
