THIS is the kind of protest that tumblr will care about sooner or later. Leave bad ratings and reviews on apple or in the google play store. Lower their rating so hard that it damages their userbase.
Logging off for a single day isn’t of interest to tumblr. I’m not saying y’all shouldn’t protest in any way you can or want, but logging off the site for just one day isn’t going to bother tumblr because tumblr doesn’t CARE about your symbolic protest. Tumblr has proven time and again that it doesn’t CARE about its userbase. We’re still using the site and we won’t stop using the site any time soon because there’s no alternative. But that’s what we’d have to do to hopefully force tumblr to change anything. And they still won’t do it because their policy change isn’t about family values or what the userbase allegedly wants. It’s about money.
So, unless you stop using the site and app permanently, or for a long period of time, this isn’t going to matter to tumblr. And when you do, you need to do it in big numbers.
Leaving them bad reviews in the apple app store or on google play (where it’ll be harder because the current average rating is 4.4 stars and you need to edit or leave a LOT of bad reviews to drastically lower that), is going to do more to damage their reputation and thus do more to compromise their profit.

So there I have seen a bit of arguing over a few dye brands, and wanted some good opinions of them (as well as putting forth mine)
Manic Panic- doesnt last a long time for me and fades pretty quick, but also doesn’t bleed very much. Somewhat expensive for no reason and you have to use a lot of it. Lots of colors 4/10
Artic Fox- a bit better than Manic in the fading department and doesn’t do a lot of bleeding after about a day or two. Smells kinda bad. Not sure how many colors, but I think it’s a lot. 6/10
Ion- the brand I use and trust the most. Takes a long time to fade and sticks to hair really easily. Smells great, usally like berries, and is easy to use. Lots of colors. 9/10
Splat- mixes reviews on this one. It seems to bleed a ton, and fades quickly depending on what shade you get. Personally, I wouldn’t use this one. 2/10
Punky color- I’ve only used this one once, and it left me with a rash, but my friend used it and had no problems, other than fading and bleed for a while. Cheep and smells kinda weird. I don’t think they have a lot of colors. 5/10

I currently have ion dye sitting in my hair and it smells really good
Idk what their business practices are, but Ion just makes REALLY good shit.
For the years I went putting industrial strength keratin in some of the most frizzy, thick hair white genetics can produce, Ion’s no-sulfate keratin shampoo+conditioner was a lifesaver. Recently I’ve been using the brazillian blowout shampoo (no conditioner because for some reason my hair hates it) and it’s sooooo good, literally my hair looks better than it did on keratin with only 5 minutes more spent on styling per wash, and thats just only drying from the top down.
I’ve started using an anti-frizz curl shaping cream recently and it seems to work really well.
I know this is super duper a random tangent, but if you’re having trouble getting your hair to FUCKING BEHAVE like I did for years, try Ion.
I still have my box so let me read some stuff on It for ya:
No peroxide or ammonia (unlike some dyes)
Formulated in Italy, made in Mexico
Ingredients (this is for Aqua blue, but I’m sure it’s similar to others): water, cerearyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, propylene glisoral, ceteareth 50, lauryl alcohol, PEG-40, hydrogenated Castor Oil, Dimethicone PEG-8 Meadowfoamate, myristyl alcohol, cocamidoproyl betaine, fragrance, imidazolidiny Urea, HC blue no. 15, phenoxyethanol, basic yellow 57, lactic acid, linalool, methylparaben, gernial, citronellol, alpha-isimetgyl lonone
And then I went to the website (ionathome), didn’t find much on as to what goes into the dyes, and so I went to trusty old Google
I didn’t manage to scape up any dirt on them, and the reviews all seemed positive on all their dye collections (like 7 or 8 I believe)
And if you don’t want to dye your hair? Oh don’t worry, Ion has got you covered. Curling irons, straigheners, blow dryers, shampoo and conditioner for ALL hair types AND colors, gel and mousse, brushes for all hair types, treatments and repair kits for your hair, and they have stuff for men. And that’s just page 1/6.

This is why
Fortnite literally revolutionized modern pvp gaming, got millions of kids excited over something wholesome that they could bond with friends over AND give them exercise doing the stupid dances, gave probably hundreds if not thousands of streamers their start, was a very technically sound and innovative game overall even compared to PUBG which it was almost undeniably based on, and was so goddamn successful it literally became a cultural icon despite being seen as "cringy" from practically day 1.
RDR2 was extremely pretty and extremely big, had a pretty good storyline, and was so unnecessarily detailed you had to INDIVIDUALLY had to make each crafted item including literally bullets. (Dont get me wrong, RDR2 was a very impressive game. That doesn't make it good on its own.)
I've never played Fortnite and Iikely never will (it's just not at all my kind of game) but I would have been pissed if Fortnite lost, honestly. It was 2018's most significant game.

I feel like this captures the true spirit of what it means to accept women. It would not have been hard for a guy to make a joke at teenage girls’ expense, we see it in our culture everywhere. Whatever teenage girls love is mocked endlessly, and it’s only very recently people have started pointing it out. Stephen Hawking took the opportunity to tell a joke and use it to not only encourage those girls to pursue science, but also to encourage what they already love and show his acceptance that it’s okay to love and enjoy that thing in a positive way. It’s such a small, but huge thing all at once, and I adore it.
Teenagers in general are mocked for their petty love. Not sure where you got the idea that it’s just girls. Like, even knights back in the Middle Ages were made fun of for obsessing over and making poems about smth. like women’s hair(not the head of hair, mind you, just ONE hair), because their love was thought to be naive. Because they’re hormonal and don’t know any better. Hell, even One Direction themselves are made of because the way they present male love towards women is overly simplistic and petty.
And girls being obsessed over One Direction is, indeed, very petty. Like, they wouldn’t even care about these guys’ “unconditional love” if they weren’t rich and famous. They’d probably just dismiss them about being “nice guy” types. I would honestly be surprised if any girl that wastes her time with this non-sense actually decides to pursue science in any significant way. If they have any interest in it, it’ll probably be in the same way fans of Hetalia watch it thinking they’re studying history, or women watch comic book movies thinking they’re nerdy, but then call the movie “Galaxy Guardians” and think it would have been better without the tree or raccoon.
Shit like this makes me wish there was a female equivalent of “compensating for something”.

Women should be able to go their entire lives without wearing makeup or heels if they don’t want to, without getting called slobby, or unprofessional, or “doesn’t care about her image”, or being fucking denied jobs for not wanting to wear heels or makeup at work every day. If men aren’t expected to cover their faces with makeup or wear incredibly uncomfortable shoes every day of their lives neither should I.
The thing is… women ARE able to go their entire lives without wearing makeup OR heels.
Generally, guys dont force heels on women in working positions. And most jobs that would require you ‘dress up’ likely don’t have heels as a need for the work outfit. That’s usually a choice.
And makeup? People go their whole lives without it. MANY people from this generation do it as well. People put on makeup for their own enjoyment. No one has ever forced a woman to put on makeup.
Sure if they wear it all the time, they’ll look different because they’ve gotten everyone used to a fake face. But those that don’t, dont look ‘more tired’ because that’s how they actually look.
And here’s the kicker, let’s say a woman does work somewhere and gets fired for NOT dressing like that.
Well it’s a good thing you can sue for that, huh?
If you look through the other notes on here, you’ll find articles about how there are many places that require women to wear makeup, and how you can’t sue employers over it because they’re allowed to enforce a dress code
So because some women… decided to go through the process of applying, go through an interview, and got hired, but didn’t like the dress code of the place they decided to work at its.. somehow an unpassable obstacle?? I get that work sucks, I don’t like my job sometimes. But if there was something about my job that I fundamentally didn’t agree with then I would find another job. SOME men aren’t expected to cover their faces everyday with makeup or wear incredibly uncomfortable shoes every day, because they chose to work in an environment that allowed them that much. Then again, many men do work with their faces covered by safety equipment. And many men, myself included do work in things like work boots that, while may not be comfy, still protect me from the elements. And looking through, sure. There’s many people in this echo chamber agreeing. But theres also those that like me, disagree. Just because a lot of people put restrictions on themselves or others doesn’t make this an issue that no one can get around.

Sometimes, when a whole bunch of women all complain of the same sexist bullshit, it's because they're all experiencing that sexist bullshit and don't need you to tell them that, actually, it's fine for employers to implicitly force you to wear shoes that damage your feet and cause extreme pain (i wore heels to a 6 hour shift on my feet and couldn't walk for 2 days the pain was so extreme).
And even if it's not, like, you can still decide not to do those things! It may be at the cost of your job or any job prospects, but nobody is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to wear makeup! Even though people see makeup as hygiene so a woman never wearing makeup is akin to a man never brushing his teeth, and people who make crucial decisions in your life will see you as a slob if you don't do it, nobody is PHYSICALLY FORCING YOU TO APPLY MAKEUP, so... no sexism!
You never took a minute to put yourself in a woman's shoes before deciding that it was all feminist bullshit. You've never lived my experience. You don't fucking know. You "anti-misandry" folks always suspiciously skip right over terfs/radfems to arrogantly waltzing up to real misogyny and condescending at the women experiencing it.
