𝚈ork knows he ought to be on his way back to Washington already. Something came up, of course. Still, he came here; urgency hasn’t come to him yet. “Blake Langermann?”

He shows his badge and explains, putting it away again. “FBI Special Agent Francis York Morgan, call me York.” It’s late, the entrance isn’t well lit and so neither is he. “I’d like to talk to you about Anna Lee.” York takes a step into the light streaming out from the hallway just to present himself better. “May I come in?”

“𝚃hat’s some old fashion, Zach.” Though not to say old-fashioned, not at all, and it doesn’t seem to be the precinct’s idea. He just sees a clear contrast, sitting here in his pressed suit. York helps himself to using the ashtray on the detective’s desk — he smokes too, albeit rarely committing.

And he never says no to coffee. Definitely, that’ll be worth the wait. “I’ll take milk if you have it.” Left knee over his right, York bobs his foot. If he’s getting coffee at least they hadn’t heard FBI and been spooked right away. “Thanks.”

    “Mine probably,” Jennifer admits. She sets down her coffee with a sigh---it’s gone cold anyway. “Fourteen autopsies and not a single one explaining why the host experiments aren’t working. You can’t just... fry someone’s brain and expect their body to accept a nanobot infusion...” Shaking her head, she nearly laughs. Even saying it aloud sounds absolutely ridiculous. “God. It’s starting to sound more like pseudoscience. I’ve tried to talk to Raul about giving a new process a try, but he’s sticking with Wernicke’s idea. It’s bullshit.” 

    She pauses, realizing how much has tumbled out of her mouth. It seems her frustrations have dug deeper than she thought. 

                                       “... Sorry. It’s---... I’m stressed. That’s all.”

LOSING HIS YOUTH. malcolm is addicted to staying young both physically and at heart, his teen years were the best he’s ever had despite the occasional abuse behind the scenes of the blacksmith, he LOVED to sneak out, party and cause mayhem in near villages. he was someone that loved to live life without a fear and without a care. one of the reasons why his ADDICTION to it is so strong is because its the only time he really, feels. as someone who struggles with emotion, feelings aren’t often something that happens. but the nostalgia is a dangerous addiction and something he REFUSES to let go of. 

he’s someone with a shitty childhood, amazing teen years and a terrible adulthood. so he wants to cling to a time where he was happy, free.

LEAVING HIS SON THE WAY HE DID. he doesn’t regret the power gained from choices, but he does regret the bad terms that those choices forced them to leave on. it’s something that actually eats him alive; thinking about it every single day, its one of the reasons he tries to busy himself because even he, knows there’s no point thinking on it because there is nothing that can be done to change the FRACTURED relationship. 

PAN WASN’T A GOOD FATHER. but by god he tried, but another regret is not treating his kid right; spending too many nights at the pub while his son was being baby sat by two spinsters, being DISTANT with him as much as he was. but that part wasn’t his fault, sadly he’s just someone that suffers from emotional detachment and this was one of the relationships that proved it. but if he could somehow take it back, he would in a heart beat.

❛ OF CAUSE YOU ARE, I WOULD NEVER DEPRIVE SOMEONE OF FEELING ❜  held in palm was the SWORD that the truest believer had IMAGINED. spinning it effortlessly as an IDLE motion, though eyes focused on IT rather than OLIVER. for once, the SMILE was wiped off peter’s face and within its wake was left a HARD look that would have ALMOST anyone shiver in fear, there were always those little strays on the island that managed to READ him; that didn’t seem FEARFUL. it was a rather odd predicament to find himself in, perhaps it made the immortal UNCOMFORTABLE by such a concept; especially with the name DEMON so rightfully attached to him. part of him wasn’t complaining, found it NICE even; but there would ever be that MONSTER that people spoke freely of. which is exactly who oliver was LOOKING AT, it wouldn’t be the first time nor last ( anyone could see that he was going EASY on the boy, something pan wasn’t aware of due to the BUBBLE of something unnamed above the surface going undetected. )

HOLDING UP SWORD JUST UNDER THE LOST BOYS CHIN, NOW MAKING DIRECT EYE CONTACT. the blade PRESSING against skin but not making the motion to cut it completely, eyes suddenly DARKENING with something dangerous, the GREEN resembling that of a JUNGLE during a STORM ❛ — JUST DON’T MAKE IT MY PROBLEM. ❜ the next time oliver blinked, pan was GONE and the only thing left in his wake was the sword that had once again turned into the stick it was.

MISC STARTERS | ACCEPTING. 

HAND HELD UP TO SILENCE THE LOST BOY. they were in a spot which looked out ACROSS neverland, giving a clear view of everyone and EVERYTHING.  its not like he NEEDED it of cause, the shadow that lurked in the darkness of the island would always report right back to him; that and neverland WAS pans beating heart, he felt what it felt no matter HOW SMALL. but there was something THRILLING about looking across the land, SEEING his work with the eyes ATTACHED to him. it was like looking over a BOARD GAME  and each person was a little piece. all pan needed to do was SNAP his fingers and the DICE would be rolled. 

AFTER A FEW LONG MOMENTS OF SILENCE, PAN PASSED THE BINOCULARS TO OLIVER. pointing over at a particular spot, which beyond would lie THE SAVIOR and their little band of misfit heroes where they would be setting up camp.  ❛ THAT RIGHT THERE. i want you to lure them as far away from OUR camp as you can, MESS WITH THEM up close and personal. everything that i’ve taught you has lead up to THIS MOMENT. you’re free to take your own group on this quest; just get the job done. ❜

Joseph couldn’t stop the sneer that twisted his usually passive features as he looked in Kidman’s general direction, his glasses were gone, from the bed he was strapped in. He could still hear that infernal RINGING sometimes in his ears and his head was usually hurting since he woke up a few(?) days ago out of that hellscape. Where he was the detective didn’t know, but he did know that his partner wasn’t here and that Kidman was a LIAR.

          “Oh? Then explain yourself, Junior Detective,” Joseph’s brown eyes were cold and his words as sharp as a knife. “What don’t I understand.”

he was absolutely not calm, voice cracking harshly  - though to his credit, after watching a stranger be ripped apart like tissue paper by a creature with several heads and far too many arms to make locomotion feasible, he liked to think he was doing rather well. 

were he not so occupied involuntarily replaying the sound the poor soul had made as she met her end, he might have wondered how his younger partner was somehow faring so much better.

“ i’m fine, ” put in more firmly, with more sense of surety, joseph exhaled a breath and adjusted his glasses where they had been unsettled in his prior shock.  “ we should keep going. just - just not that way. ”
