Two questions: What's the purpose of wither(shii the kwami of deaths power)? How do you use death in a good way? Is the solution to just kill the enemy? Second question: Whats the purpose of corruptive energy? Is that not the opposite of good? Why would it help to corrupt something?
There’s not necessarily a “purpose”, that’s just his power and concept. Shii personally does not like the idea of Death being used as a weapon or a means in a fight-- Death is a natural end, which is how it should be, natural. When animals first started evolving Shii was actually pretty horrified of things like hunting and fighting.
Fortunately Shii’s powers have never been abused or used in a battle, as his Miraculous was hidden away not long after it’s creation.

Positive energy isn’t good. Negative energy isn’t evil. Too much or too little of either is bad-- it needs to be kept in balance. One member of each Alpha Duo aligns with either side, and they can manipulate these energies, which could result in good or evil depending on how it’s used.
In can be used to fuel various powers. So Tikki takes the negative energy of the akuma, purifies it, and uses that energy to fuel her Miraculous Ladybug.
Plagg could theoretically “cleanse” the butterfly as well, but it wouldn’t be purifying-- they would actually be absorbing the negative energy and drawing it into themselves. From here it would either have to be released as a Black Storm, or they would need Tikki’s help to turn it into a neutral energy.
I see the energies as more as a passive abilities of the Alpha kwamis. So the ability to manipulate energy or to purify/corrupt it could be used to fuel various powers, to help rid a thing of too much positive or negative energy, or be used in tandem with the opposite to create a harmless neutral energy.

Why do vitaa and shii only have one power when tikki has three (lucky charm, miraculous cure and cleanse)? Shouldnt plagg, vitaa and shii all possess 3 powers to 'balance' it? Order, chaos, light and darkness make sense for only having one but it seems like the top alphas should have more to show that they are truly more powerful? It seems like the butterfly miraculous could give powers rivaling the alpha (copycat and anti bug had the same powers) and that's supposed to be on a lower power scale
In my headcanons, Tikki’s purifying/cleansing abilities applies to all “positive energy” Alphas. So Vitaa, Tikki, Graay, and Flikker can all manipulate positive energy, and purify negative energy.
I also headcanon that Plagg gets three powers-- Cataclysm, Black Storm, and corrupting energy. Like with Tikki, Plagg’s ability to corrupt energy and manipulate it applies to all “negative energy” Alphas: Shii, Plagg, Prrysm, and Corri.
As for why Vitaa and Shii don’t another power, it’s just because I haven’t thought of any others I think fit them, but that could change in the future. But number of powers don’t decide strength, it just means there’s multiple ways to manipulate their concept. For example Yuume can manipulate both dreams and nightmares in various ways, but that’s because they’re both a type of dream. But that doesn’t make him more powerful than someone like Fluff, who only has “Burrow”.

Honestly, I don’t like the way the Butterfly’s powers are handled in canon. I definitely think there should be defined limits on what powers it can grant. I explore this in chapter 16 of my fic Crimson and Noire with Copycat-- where their power is to make it look like they are using Cataclysm, rather than truly having Plagg’s Destruction. In my headcanons, including how things will be handled on this blog, Nooroo will have limits on what his champions can do (same with Duusu’s senti-creatures).
Flikker and Corri might change from Light and Darkness to Celestial and Void, but I’m still deciding.
