Producer Ashok Prasad Abhishek's project will shortly feature two prominent veteran actors from the Bhojpuri film industry. Both of these movies will be mass-produced. Despite the fact that the film's title has not yet been chosen, production has already begun. The hunt is now on for the movie's heroines. Bollywood actresses may be chosen for the film, it is said.
Happy Birthday super talented Scottish film director and writer Lynne Ramsay.
Born in Glasgow on 5th December 1969, Ramsay studied photography at Napier College, Edinburgh. In 1995, she graduated from the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield, England, where she specialised in cinematography and direction.
After cutting her teeth on several shorts, Ramsay wrote and directed the film Ratcatcher in 1999, starring Tommy Flanagan, it’s a gritty film set in early 70’s Glasgow, it is really worth a watch, it tells the story of a wee laddie affected by his part in the drowning of another, it’s a bleak film but captures Glasgow at a time when the tenements started to be emptied for schemes that went up on the outskirts. Another fab film by Lynne Ramsay is Morvern Callar, based on the excellent Alan Warner novel set in Oban.
Lynne Ramsay’s last feature film was a decent effort You Were Never Really Here, starring Joaquin Phoenix as a man who tracks down missing girls for a living, it gets 6.8/10 on IMDb and is well worth a watch and it received a seven-minute standing ovation at Cannes, you will find it on Amazon Prime. In 2019 she made a short documentary called Brigitte, it’s framed round a candid conversation between the photographer Brigitte Lacombe and the film maker discussing their process and fascination with images as well as Brigitte's close relationship to her sister Marian Lacombe. The film has had a couple of good reviews and rated 6.9 on IMDB.
Ramsay is considered one of the British most original and exciting voices working in Independent cinema today, she was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Edinburgh for her contribution to Scottish film in 2013.
Lynne is far from being a prolific filmmaker, but she admits to being a perfectionist, better to be that than to churn out film after film at the behest of Hollywood. She said in a recent interview she has a script under her belt and is seeking backers to make it, but has given nothing away to the content.
Word out of the Cannes market is that dRamsay is set to adapt the Margaret Atwood story “Stone Mattress”, with Julianne Moore and Sandra Oh set to star. Let’s hope so, it’s been too long Lynne!
Update of sorts. I don’t have any WWTV content coming out till possibly May or June. Mainly because I’m finishing up a major project for @texas_wine (TWGGA). It’s a documentary about the past presidents of TWGGA and the importance of the organization. I’d say it’s my most ambitious project ever. I’m excited to see the final product. Like winemaking, you need high quality grapes in order to make high quality wine. You can also make not so good wine with high quality grapes. In this case I have some great content. More than I can actually use. It’s going to be hard to decide what stays. But the goal is to tell a story, not just throw some clips together. I have over 4 hours of interviews plus more hours of B-roll. Most of that will never see the light of day. If all goes well, this film will be made public by the end of April or beginning of May. And if it really goes well, I may try to do more wine documentaries. I have at least two ideas that I won’t share cuz I don’t want anyone to steal them. Who knows? I may become the next @jasonbwise / @somm_films ;) or not. #texaswine #wine #flimmaker #documentary https://www.instagram.com/p/CbrGYfpt_sd/?utm_medium=tumblr
Initial Edit Decision List (EDL) completed. Pared down to a total of 123 clips. Next, determining which clips go to which project. For the most part that’s easy. But I have some that can be used for both. Then creating a true EDL for what parts of each clip I need. Some of that won’t necessarily be done in this format, but done in the editing process. Though I’m thinking that as I edit indicate what I’m doing in an EDL. Then I can kind of see how things flow “on paper.” See if I’m being effective in telling a story since I’m really not working from a script. #flimmaker #wine #texaswine #twgga #lifewithmark https://www.instagram.com/p/CaaXBhAJDRE/?utm_medium=tumblr

Happy Birthday filmmaker Gillian Berrie, born on September 8th 1967 in Glasgow.
Now you probably haven't heard of Gillan Berrie , unless, like me you're a wee bit of film buff, Gillian has probably done more for Scottish film in the last twenty-odd years , than any other person.
Gillian co-founded Sigma Films in 1996 with director David Mackenzie. Together they made several award winning shorts before embarking on their features, since then they have been involved in some of the best Scottish films, either with Sigma or others, including the brilliant Hallam Foe, starring Jamie Bell, Perfect Sense, with Scarlett Johansson and The Last Great Wilderness and Ken Loach’s My Name is Joe. If you haven’t seen any of these films do so as soon as you can. I must mention another Berrie produced film, prison drama Starred Up, and a second mention of the day to the film web site Rotten Tomatoes, where the movie has an outstanding 99% rating.
At the Scottish BAFTA New Talent Awards in 2002 she won the BAFTA for Outstanding Achievement. In order to create a vibrant hub for the film community in Scotland, Gillian founded Film City Glasgow in 2004. In 2012 she founded Jumpcut, the Uk’s one and only, intensive, mentor-led summer school to provide a fast-track for youngsters into working in the film industry. The project is widely regarded as a runaway success.
In 2014 Gillian received an Honorary Doctorate from the University of West of Scotland for her contribution to film, culture and the arts.
Sigma’s films regularly premiere at A List festivals and have received over 150 awards internationally, including the Prix de Jury in Cannes for Red Road, and the Silver Bear in Berlin for Hallam Foe as well as numerous BIFA and BAFTA nominations and awards, my favourite film by Sigma is the Robert the Bruce movie Outlaw King, which Berrie produced, an earlier film sh produced, which I really like is the prison drama,Starred Up
Gillian has a number of projects on the go just now, some only shorts, which to me means she likes keeping busy, she is Executive Producer of an upcoming US Mini-Series, Under the Banner of Heaven set in Utah.
