How many OC’s do you have and which of your children is your favorite? (Sarcasm with the last half)

let’s see I have like 6 depending on how I look at it! Characters who are fleshed out enough that they have a name and a design and at least a loose plot and purpose is about 6. Two of them are book characters from my original novel idea (A werewolf named Caleb Fisher and a Cat Sidhe named Jack Bennett), they are the most liquid and susceptible to change as their existence has more professional applications.

The other four are ocs who i’ve been developing for fun and are all apart of the same concept! Four magic users with different specialties and familiars. 

Flint (specializes in magic crystals)

Flint’s Familiar: Soot; can split apart into three separate lizards names Smudge, Ash, and Dusty

Laguna (specializes in water magic/elemental magic)

Laguna’s Familiar: Pud; a frog/otter (Frotter) which can shapeshift between the two forms

Ayah (specializes in summoning magic)

Ayah’s Familiar(s); Djinn, manifesting in the form of black cats that live in her shadow. Their names are Zahir (the leader) Hamada, Samirah, Eman, and Rabia.

Lucio (specializes in celestial magic) 

Lucio’s Familiar: A Church Grim, taking the form of a large black dog. Called Grim

Since this is sort of turning into a long masterpost, I’ll also include this picture :D

Right now Lucio has my attention because he’s the one I’m currently developing, but I have such a soft spot for Flint. And Laguna’s design is just SO MUCH FUN/ I think Ayah is up next on my list to hyperfixate on, but I’ve been meaning to make some more comics about the familiars and the best friend dynamics!!!

If your OC’s had a Pokémon crossover, I definitely see Flint’s crush on Laguna. I mean, rock types are weak to water!!! *Slaps knee* Anyway! What’s the setting? Do they all go to the same magic school?

I’ve been sitting on this ask for a few days OOPS because you said Pokemon AU in the same breath as my OCs and guess what happened

shout out to khfan t on deviantart for this template, i just wanted to have a little fun coming up with the kinds of pokemon teams my OCs would have :D Flint’s got some rocky bois with one special ghost teapot, Laguna’s killing it with the water team (of course). Ayahs got a CAT problem with some special other cuddly friends which plays into her summoning spells a little bit. And of course Lucios got the emo kids and is the only one lucky enough to get a mythic (legendary?) on his team cause it was shadow themed and less crazy looking than other shadow themed legendaries. 

To answer the actual question!! lol the setting is an idea of a kind of Magic Trade School, which is a sort of parody twist on magical wizard school, its a magical certification program lol. Its a post highschool trade school you can choose to enroll in instead of your junior and senior year of basic education, or go straight into after highschool if you prefer. You have to do a lot of community college style courses along side practical internships on and off campus with boarding housing (and off site apartments you can apply for). Most students in their first year are in some basic dorms but move around the area to apartments depending on their familiars and their familiars specific needs (or proximity to off site internships). A very common partnership for promising certification applicants is that they get scoped by businesses in their field of study  (enchantment, summoning, potion making, curse breaking, gate creation) and offered grants towards their education if they sign a contract promising to take their internship or job after they complete the program. 

its a biiig campus, for whatever reason in my brain it looks a lot like the school from that videogame Bully 

Bullworth academy, except less violent and crappy lmao. With lots of large buildings for different certification programs.

A new OC for my little universe! This lovely lady’s name is Ayah, and she is an incredible, fashionable, wonderful girl who has a interest in all types of summoning magic! Whether its little helpers, little creatures, or any sort of spirit, she focuses on studying how to do so responsibly and how best to nurture and encourage any spirits that come her way. She is extra careful after a particular incident accidentally landed her with a whole gaggle of djinn who adore her and live in her shadow. Shes got five of them, although its a little hard for other people to tell sometimes (a lot of her classmates are convinced they’ve seen more). The most distinctive one is Zahir, the leader of the bunch with a unique docked tail. Also in her crew of djinn are Hamada, Samirah, Eman, and Rabia. It doesn’t matter that they are all nearly identical, she can tell them apart without even trying. 

She is close buds with Lucio vvvvv

and they lose their familiars in the dark all the god damn time

Laguna is her best friend!

Still practicing watercolor, not super jazzed but not very displeased either! The second one is a slightly edited one because i didnt quite get vibrancy (which isnt really the goal with watercolors anyways lol)

Ive never used watercolors before, transfering colors to a palette spot to mix is a bit of a trick i havent sorted out yet but im enjoying myself!
