warnings. FLUFF, wife!reader, language, reader & Flip have kids, Flip’s still kind of a birthday troll lol, general cuteness. **no actual use of ‘Y/N’ in this fic.

“Alright, Dad, it’s time to open up your presents.” You say to Flip as you clean up the last of the dessert dishes.

The kids cheer and run over to the living room, where a stack of wrapped presents are waiting to be opened. Flip sticks a cigarette between his teeth and just as he’s about to light it, you snatch it from him, delivering a swift swat to the back of his head.

“Not around the kids, my god.”

He groans. “I wasn’t even around the--hey, it’s my fuckin’ birthday!”

Your eyes widen. Oh, no, you forgot to tell him about the incident... “Flip--”

“Yeah, it’s Dad’s fuckin’ birthday!”

His eyes widen, now, and he leans down to get eye-level with his son. He gives him a serious look.

“Hey now. You don’t use those kinds of words, you hear me? Even if your mom and I say them, you’re not allowed to say them. Is that understood?”

The young boy nods quickly, then runs over to stand next to you. He sighs, taking a seat in his old recliner as he runs a hand through his hair. 

“So, apparently there are presents?”

You offer him a small smile, then look over at the kids. They both are quick to grab their gifts and rush over to their dad, climbing up on the chair with him. He smiles, laughing softly as they both shove their presents at him, trying to get him to open their’s first.

“Well, does mom have a present for me?” He asks, looking up at you, silently asking for some assistance.

You’re not giving him any. Instead, you just give him a sweet smile. “Oh, mine can wait until the end.”

Flip shakes his head, rolling his eyes at you before looking down at the kids. 

“How about you both open them up at the same time for me? That way, they’re opened at the same time?”

They both agree and quickly rip open his gifts: two brand new plaid flannels. He chuckles, holding them up.

“Both were hand picked for you by the kids.” You say, leaning on the chair arm. “They wanted to get you a monster truck toy and a princess toy, but I convinced them that maybe you’d want something else.”

He laughs, nodding. “Yes, they’re perfect. Thank you, kids.”

Both give him a kiss on the cheek before getting down off the chair, running off to grab their toys. He looks up at you, then, giving you a kiss.

“You didn’t have to get me anything, peanut.”

You smile, slipping him the small box. “Well, this isn’t, uh...isn’t really a typical gift.”

His eyebrows furrow, and you give him a nudge.

“Just open it, you’ll see what I mean.”

He opens the box and pulls out the photo frame, one containing a sonogram picture. It takes him a moment, but his eyes widen and he looks over at you. You nod, smiling.

“I found out about two weeks ago.”

Before you can even stand, Flip’s already on his feet and pulling you into his arms. He’s laughing with happiness, tears swelling in his eyes.

“Oh my god...oh my god.” Flip whispers, drawing back to pull you in for a kiss. “You’re absolutely incredible, I-I can’t believe it."

You smile, shedding tears as you kiss him back. “I’m so happy, Flip. We’re having another baby.”

He laughs softly, hands gently resting on your abdomen.

“This is the best birthday present ever. Thank you.”

With a smile, you rest your hands over his.

“You’re welcome.”
