How do you fix a stitching skip?
Hi there! Alright so I won’t say I’m the most experienced sewer, but quite a few things could be the reason why your machine is skipping stitches. But don’t freak out I promise its probably something that’s a super easy fix.
The most likely thing is that your needle is too dull to go through the fabric or your fabric is too thick. If that’s the case all you would need to do is replace the needle for a fresh one or put in the type of needle that would work such as a needle specifically for leather or denim.
Check out this webpage for other reasons why your machine may be skipping stitches.
Now to actually fix where the stitch was skipped….there’s not much you can actually do besides ripping out the seam back out to where the stitch was dropped or leaving as it is and filling in the stitch by hand. (Yes, a little annoying but the only way to do it)
