If nothing else, it's a great confidence booster to walk downstairs in the morning, walk past my macaw's cage and hear, "Hey pretty girl, how are you?!" I love my little rainbow fluff daughter.

Meet Salem! I first met her when she was dropped of at my job. Her owner couldn't keep up with her. He had another eclectus at home and the two didn't get along. He is a good bird owner, I know from all the times he's come into the store to get things to spoil his birds, but she was so demanding he couldn't keep up with her. So she was put in a cage and kept in the back of the store with our educational birds. Between feedings and general time spent back there, she grew on me. She never spoke, never even made a peep actually, but she has a very expressive face. Finally last weekend I told my boss I wanted to take her home. And how she surprised me. Once she was back into a home setting, she started talking like CRAZY. She has been playful and adventurous, and I really think she is comfortable again. I'm so happy to say I am now her forever home!
