BIRBLR I NEED YOUR HELP! My boyfriend and I were looking into getting a humidifier for our room and I can’t seem to find any information on if they’re okay for birds or not? I don’t want to get one without knowing if my baby would be safe.

As I walked into Petco in Waterford, CT yesterday I saw a sight that I could not believe what was allowed. Sad, abused animals locked in small cadges. Quickly tears came to my eyes because I could do nothing to help these poor animals. Of course the worst of the worst were the parrots. Stuffed into small glass cadges, they were shivering in fear. One had a very apparent sore on its foot, another had ripped tail feathers. The worst though, was a shy pineapple conure who had a very obvious bruise on its beak and a plucking problem. For those who don't know, plucking occurs when the animal is stressed out and depressed, the equivalent of cutting. I know its become common for sad parrots to inhabit Petco and yet every time my heart wrenches. The unbelievable lack of knowledge from a company who claims to love animals is disgusting. I will never step foot into a Petco again. I encourage all of you to do the same. Please, go to local shelters. Talk to an avian certified vet. This is how we will take down companies who abuse animals.

I thought my little guy could join the birby party as a bedtime birbito. He likes being wrapped up in his ‘blankie’ and falls asleep like that when I’m reading him his bedtime story. I feel terrible when I have to wake him and put him back in his cage for the night because he always looks so mad at me.
flock-talk Birb party! I hope it’s alright if I invite not only own baby Parie (Green cheek on my head up on top, her name is short of Paradise) but also some of my friends from the bird shelter I volunteer at! (My human friend Gemma is also featured in a few of them with her permission of course.) After Parie comes Peaches the moluccan, then Sputnik the umbrella, Wyatt the mini macaw, and last but not least Prince Charming the blue fronted amazon!
My two birbs joining in on flock-talk‘s birby party!
My ‘tiel is distracted by the fishies, and my dove is probably thinking he’s too old for this new-fangled birby party. XD He’s in his 20′s after all!
