Yes, well. They're... amusing, to say the least. Perhaps a bit too reckless, though, considering they're touching...
Uncharted Territory, one might say.
While I don't hold any grudges against Killers, I do believe that I may have a... small prejudice towards them.
The Killer in this gang seems to be boringly manipulatable (like another I know)
The Dust isn't much better, really, though his magic prowess is rather admirable. He has nothing on Arian, though, not that I think any of us really do
The Nightmare isn't mine. He's also entertainingly easy to prod at in order to get to his sore spots
The Horror is also rather entertaining. While he seems to have the best grasp of what's going on around here, his experience falls very short
The Cross leaves much to be desired. So cold and stoic- as if he thinks I can't see the tremor in his eyelights when they land on an infected
A 'Flayer' is a mix between a mage and a monster gone wrong, forming an entirely new species that was eventually experimented with. Such is the nature of all experiments that it then quickly became something far more lethal and dangerous than immediately intended.
A Flayer has three sub-categories, but all have things in common. they are capable of shape-shifting between something more akin to monster-mage hybrids nowadays, with a mostly human appearance and a potential monster-like attribute, and a skeleton monster- though the SOUL remains the same throughout it.
The majority also wear hoods to hide how their eyes, no matter which form they take, seem to glint with a cold kind of unnervingness.
They're also incapable of reproducing.
CW for what lies below: Violence, brutality, psychological horror, body horror, general consensus being that there's dead dove do not eat
Mind Flayers
Mind flayers are a cunning sub-species that have magic that directly effects one's mind. They are capable of delving into it and manipulating it to their will- as well as being capable of reading surface-level thoughts. They are capable of
1) Absorbing one's memories, becoming one together and leaving the body vegetated and pliant to commands;
2) Removing memories, which is self-explanatory;
3) Placing in new memories that you would immediately accept as normal and always there;
4) Replaying your own memories;
5) Taking over your mind and essentially turning you into that of a slave
Essentially Psychological Horror
Body Flayers
A lethal but easier-to-spot sub-species that live very much up to their names. They primarily work with Determination and Perseverance, as well as the two sub-categories of SOUL traits that fit vaguely into those boxes. They tend to be physically stronger and faster than the others.
They are capable of:
1) Shredding and tearing apart one's body;
2) Manipulating their own body to take another's form (though there will always be imperfections);
3) Blowing people apart;
4) [Applicable to tier 5 Body Flayers and higher] Extreme levels of bodily torture without any visible physical effects or any reason behind it
5) Very few are powerful enough to actually heal using their abilities, but it's possible [Applicable to tier 10 and above]
Essentially Body Horror
SOUL Flayers
The most powerful and rarest subspecies, capable of directly effecting the SOUL and manipulating one to their very will. They are the easiest of the easiest to spot, however, considering how eldritchian they normally appear.
They are capable of:
1) Manipulating one to their will;
2) Linking up people's SOULs and developing a telepathy line so that they may control their subjects from afar;
3) Causing intense nightmares and severe flashbacks;
4) Creating that unnerving feeling of something wrong when nothing's wrong;
5) Taking the form of any who they're linked to;
6) Shredding, ripping and tearing people they've taken the SOUL of to pieces with a flick of their hand
And also plenty of other things yet to be discovered
