Did anyone else recently discover the Final Fantasy series of games?? I've known OF them for the longest time, but my husband recently purchased the Final Fantasy XV game to play again and I've been in a choke hold since 🤣🤣. So far it's been very much "bros being bros" as the world is actively burning around them lmao. He loves fishing in the game and is very, very proud of each of his catches - so far as taking pictures of them to send me if he's playing while I'm not home 🤣🤣.
I have next to no knowledge of the game or the series or the world, but I am currently head over heels for Ignis and for Ardyn - I very much have a type for smart guys who are also very hot 🤣🤣🤣.

Louis // Fire Emblem Engage
First Impression: "Oh look another armor knight. I have no idea if I'm even going to like this game so let me choose you for the pact ring as a meme".
Impression Now: This armor knight broke me real bad. He still carries the sins of how IntSys loves to write most armor units (as joke units), but there's more to his character underneath if you're willing to extrapolate and dig. I haven't been so enamored by an FE unit- hell, any fictional character that isn't an OC- this significantly in quite some time.
Favorite Moment: Saying the Pandreo A support is cheating, but I'll choose that because I have lost sleep over it. It was one of the first times that I saw his cheerful shell crack a little bit and I was very curious to learn more about him. Please give Louis a hug.
If we're ignoring that support as my favorite, it's the Saphir A.
From a gameplay standpoint, one of my favorite moments in recent memory happened during my second playthrough/Pick-My-Unit run when Louis was facing Goldmary in Enemy Phase during Chapter 10. I think I'll let this screenshot tell the story:

Idea for a Story: I've got a lot ideas stewing behind the scenes, but I'll share one of my favorites.
There's a post-battle exploration quote where Louis talks about his fear of being surrounded by enemies subsiding. I wanted to do a character study featuring some of the first times Louis has donned his armor and how he felt in those moments.
Now, will I ever get around to this? Maybe. If I get over my fear of writing fic.
Unpopular Opinion: Given that people grossly misconstrue Louis' himedanshi tendencies, I'm firmly convinced that people were not ready for Himedanshi Armor Knight. It's also frustrating that people forget that he's a bit of a fudanshi as well (have you seen the Ike B bond support or the Clanne A support?). Is this an unpopular opinion? I don't know.
Favorite Relationship: Romantic pairings? Either M!Alear or Yunaka, with an overt bias for the former. I'm coming up on two years since that pairing grew on me and I can't even tell you why I like it. It makes me happy at least, so I guess there's that.
I absolutely adore Chloé and Louis platonically as well- give "best friends of all time" vibes to me even though IntSys didn't give them those supports >:(
Favorite Headcanon: I'm using this as an excuse to share the crackiest thing I've ever thought of for this character. Please try to connect the dots:

Hey why are all of Louis' favorite food sweets- the playable Fell Dragons have a preferred taste and their favorite foods reflect that
But in the actual spirit of headcanons, I'd say my favorite one is that his cat pupils do retract and expand like a cat's does. Well, either that or that he's probably a vegetarian.
First Impression: "This chap with the yellow gambeson sounds exactly like I imagined he would and he's the most insufferable prick. He has also committed at least 40 fashion crimes."
Impression Now: Remarkably well-written character in spite of his fashion crimes, but he's still not my favorite of the duology. That would belong to Henry, bar none; he's such a fascinating protagonist from both a gameplay and narrative standpoint.
Favorite Moment: In canon? KCD2 prologue, where he yeets himself at his and Henry's pursuer. That entire sequence was badass- he himself could've died! He doesn't have any social obligation to protect his page/squire and yet he does so because he cares about him!
If I'm talking about my current KCD1 playthrough, there was a point at the beginning of The Prey where Henry kept taking damage from Hans' horse smacking into him. I had to reload from that save point and it happened again. I cackled.
Unpopular Opinion: Can I use this for salt since I'm not sure what constitutes unpopular opinion for the KCD fandom instead? The damsel in distress and twink jokes aren't funny. They don't even make sense if you care to pay attention to Hans' social class for more than 5 seconds. Also really not a fan of people trying to erase Hans' bisexuality.
I'll admit that I'm not very trusting of the wider KCD fanbase so my lurking is limited to some authors/blogs that I think get the duology.
Favorite Relationship: Unfortunately I am basic and do quite like the Hans/Henry relationship, whether romantic or platonic. That aside, I would definitely like to read more interpretations- via fic or meta- about his relationship with Father Godwin based on the short scenes we got with them interacting with each other. I think it's ripe for more exploration.
I'm afraid I can't answer the Idea for a story or Favorite headcanon sections as I'm not very fannish for KCD in that regard.
