fairy tail twitter is arguing over who was more evil and who had the better redemption arc between gajeel and laxus. idrc about that but there is a part of it that interests me. both sides seem to think the other was forgiven too easily. which is a funny complaint because everyone in fairy tail is forgiven too easily (/neutral) I think gajeel had to go through the most to be forgiven meanwhile laxus didn't really have to do anything. fairy tail was just biased towards laxus

and I really love that

of course they were. they grew up with him. that's family fr. they're mad in the moment but it took them like 2 days to forgive him. no one in fairy tail is a moral paragon. they don't care about who is objectively worse. gajeel (random guy at the time) destroying the guild hall pissed off fairy tail more than laxus (he's in a phase rn) threatening the entirety of magnolia

cana's relationship with lucy is so important. she kept her relationship with gildarts a secret for years but here comes this runaway heiress with a more than complicated relationship with her own father. if anyone could understand, if anyone could help her it's lucy

and of course lucy is more than on board because she does understand. she wishes she could have a better relationship with her father. she's trying to have a better relationship with him. if she can help cana then she'll know she's doing the right thing. she'll know that putting in effort isn't a waste and broken bonds can be mended. they both need each other to prove something
