My pickerwheel sure has a lot of Content about my favorite husbands and I am all here for it!
It was really fun to make a more detailed rendering of this drawing this time around, even though it was a pain in the ass to turn the five-fingered reference into a four-fingered hand xD
I apologize in advance for posting a little less, I have quite some things to catch up in university and also my social life (I also really have to prioritize sleep before that turns into an issue haha)
So, thanks in advance for your patience and have a lovely day <3
Would you look at that! Its The Sun!
The Sun: Full of positivity, warmth and optimism. Just like our reliable mailman Eddie Dear! Maybe sometimes a little too optimistic, but that sounds a lot better than just being grumpy, doesn't it? Always practically radiating with optimism, when Eddie is around, you know that everything is going to be okay.
But...why is the Title crossed out? Is that the moment our beloved Eddie is stripped of his optimism with the shadows of Home's Eye directly between his eyes, just like a crosshair on a target? And are those the letters that the Welcome Home Restauration Team were recieving? The black goo is all over again...
Oh, and please ignore that out-of-place-looking butterfly. What's a nice neighborhood without a pesky bug or two?
We all know it by now: I am not experienced with the usage of tarot cards, so please don't expect me to know more than their basic meaning. Also, if you think that I should've chosen a different card for Eddie, don't come at me, I just picked what I thought fit best!
ALSO, FIRST EVER SPEEDPAINT DOWN BELOW!! Check it out if you wish!
You said something's wrong, and I could say the same to you
My dear trusted pickerwheel of Fortune has chosen my favorite character: Frank it is!
So, why the Hermit? The Hermit is a seeker of the knowledge that comes from "within". Introspection, inner guidance, maybe sometimes isolation? Frank's character just fits perfectly! Just like the Hermit knowing more than your average being, it seems that Frank might just know a little more than he is supposed to. There is definitely a reason why he doesn't have those white eyes without pupils like the others. Instead, he is looking straight at us, as if he wanted to call out for us.
This Hermit has reached a heightened state of self-awareness. The black goo is already everywhere on this card. The background looks too much like the photographies from the playfellow exhibition, and what are those human hands doing in the corners? Someone has to do something before the light in Frank's Lantern goes out and the all-seeing bug catches up to him...
Again, my usual disclaimer: I am not experienced with the usage of tarot cards, so please don't expect me to know more than their basic meaning. Also, if you think that I should've chosen a different card for Frank, don't come at me, I just picked what I thought fit best!
Alright, the Pickerwheel (of Fortune) has decided: President Joyful it is!
First things first: What made me choose the fool for Julie? The Fool is someone who is daring and carefree, and (quite literally for Julie) joyfully and free-spirited walking into the world. And Julie is the most free-spirited, playful neighbor there is! Julie can also be seen as sometimes a bit reckless and risk-taking, which embodies the upside-down fool.
Also do you notice that she is standing on Howdy's Roof? Just as when she and Frank talked about one of her games where she got stuck there! The plants and the yellow ground she seems to be standing one are the same as on Howdy's Store :)
Again, my usual disclaimer: I am not experienced with the usage of tarot cards, so please don't expect me to know more than their basic meaning. Also, if you think that I should've chosen a different card for Julie, don't come at me, I just picked what I thought fit best!
This time no Pickerwheel, just a Drawing for Pride Month!
I am just about to go to Pride myself now, so this is the perfect time to post this!
To everyone out there: HAPPY PRIDE MONTH! Take care of yourselves and spread the love and kindness that we all deserve <3 Love you guys!
The Pickerwheel is back! When I read the Wiki I just knew that I HAD to draw this someday and looks like the wheel has chosen! I really love drawing the characters with different patterns on their clothing each time :)
Thank you @bladedheavens for suggesting the idea of making them miraculously land on each others lips
Also my search history is now absolutely wrecked because I just could NOT find any good references of people colliding with each other
You live and you lose, you sympathetic star (You know where I are)
With Sally Starlet here, it looks like have only one of our beloved neighbors left now!
What makes Sally our magician? This card represents willpower, desire and concentration, and I highly doubt that there is a neighbor with more willpower than Sally herself! As passionate as she is, pulling everyone in with her eager personality, she makes the perfect magician! As well as those wondeful aspects of her character I can also see her being a bit cunning, as well as her bossy temperament which you observe in the way she acts towards Eddie (leave my man alone)
Also, the magician's usual pose has him pointing one hand up and one hand towards the earth as if to say "As Above, So Below". I wonder if that has something to do with Sally's knowledge about the being that roams the neightborhood at night?
As usual: I am not experienced with the usage of tarot cards, so please don't expect me to know more than their basic meaning. Also, if you think that I should've chosen a different card for Sally, don't come at me, I just picked what I thought fit best!
The Wheel has decided: Everyone's favorite caterpillar it is! I really should draw Howdy more, his four arms are so much fun :D
When I read through the meaning of the Emperor Card, I had to think of Howdy the most out of all neighbors: Establishment, structure, a bit of excessive control (also beacuse of his four arms always multitasking). I also tried to transform the ankh that the emperor usually carries in his right hand into Howdy's Toy Telephone while making him hold an apple instead of the usual orb.
Again, disclaimer: I don't have experience with the usage of tarot cards, I don't claim to have much knowledge about them!
