‘ you’re gonna want to let it sniff you first. ’ she holds out her own hand in demonstration, dax the orbak bumps its muzzle against her palm and grunts like an engine in bad need of an oil change (it’s fine though, nothing to worry about, that’s how they sound on a good day). 

‘ a little common courtesy, right? a thanks for not getting knocked onto your ass, you get it. ’

       she waves jessie closer, eyes bright, completely failing to see how she might be asking anything daunting of her. either jannah’s been desensitized to how imposing the tusks look up close, or she’s assuming her company’s blasé attitude runs deep, or both.

have there been moments where geiger's beliefs were shaken/challenged? how did he cope / what helped him course-correct back on track?

                               i would say that geiger’s belief in atom is earnest and unwavering.  he was raised within the children of atom and grew up on those beliefs,  and everything he’s seen in the world has really only affirmed his faith rather than challenged it.  he’s never doubted atom’s existence or the reality of his will,  but he has experienced doubt in himself to enact that will.

he sometimes feels as though he’s in a rut,  not really accomplishing anything or moving in the direction given to him by atom.  meditation and scouring to embrace the glow anew are his go - to coping strategies for this type of feeling,  or pushing himself to some challenge.  when he found the biplane he was in that sort of state of mind,  questioning if his purpose was simply to survive and feeling remarkably unfulfilled by that idea.  while in the commonwealth / far harbor he’s pretty actively seeking whatever purpose atom brought him here for.  meeting the sosu / coa in the nucleus feels to him more like a step in the right direction more than a final point but he feels a lot more productive and active in his purpose currently.
