he always carries gum or mints to chew on when he needs to focus and he has a bunch of random snacks in his bag that are probably stale by now but he’s gotta be Prepared

jack literally doesn’t care what his athletic shoes look like as long as they do the job so the reason he has the horrifying highlighter yellow shoes is he entered fucking, dick’s sporting goods or whatever and spun around 3 times and pointed and was like “hey they’re even on sale go me” (also. bitty’s tried to throw them out but he has a backup pair)
hc c: what is heart-crushing and awful but fun to inflict on friends
since he was in rehab (and im assuming another mental health institution following that once the rehab people realized he wasn’t getting what he needed there) he has a really huge fear of being institutionalized again, enough that he both is scared of 99% of therapists now and never ever wants to take anti- anxiety or depression meds again 1. because he doesn’t really trust himself still and 2. because he’s terrified he’ll end up in a place like that again
