mica: what my muse views as their worst personality trait
not gonna lie his knee jerk reaction to this was flaws? i have them? LMAO but seriously though, the flaw he considers the worst is probably one of his best assets. lotor believes he is too idealistic, and often tries to shove down some of his ideological self-questioning thinking that if he does something according to his emotions and not “logic,” his empire will unravel and he’ll lose more than he could ever hope to gain. little does he know (read: he just doesn’t want to admit) that it’s his idealistic side and not his pragmatic side that really pushed him toward his greatest success: starting his journey of moving away from his abusive parents.
zoisite: does my muse believe everything's going to work out for them in the end or not?
of course he does. he “always” gets his way. the one sort of idealism that he tolerates in himself is supreme self-confidence that everything will be okay--i don’t think we saw a single moment in canon where he seemed unsure of himself. not even after his generals turned against him--he only looked sad and disappointed, and maybe even reflective, but not nervous. not when he flew straight into that star to stave off his dad--he could have died, but he did it knowing his plan would work. not even when he was ready to make an alliance and become imprisoned with voltron--the hecking SMIRK on his face said it all. he believes everything will be all right for him because his entire life, he could not afford to imagine the opposite.
