New shoe day! After much research I bought myself a pair of trail shoes today; opting for the zero-drop Altra Lone-Peak 3.5 over the spongey Hoka Speedgoats. The toe box is wide for my broad feet and won’t squeeze my toes; they have a stone plate but there is plenty of flex and feel in the shoe; the zero-drop promotes forefoot running as opposed to the highly-cushioned heel of the Hoka. The Hokas felt interesting; high and bouncy like I was on a rubber playground surface, but I feel the Altras will be more stable on rough terrain. The proof will come on Sunday-week but I plan to wear them at training in the park this morning. 👟🏃😄
